Stephenie Garrett reviewed: Jewellery making course - Bracelets, Stacking Rings, Earrings & Pendants - New Forest

"I recently attended this one day course with Natalia and thoroughly enjoyed it. Natalia is very thorough with her explanation in health & safety, use of tools and techniques. She is also very encouraging and was there on hand to help at anytime, we were lucky to be able to make what we did during the time! I loved making my bracelet and I'm very pleased with what I achieved, this was due to the excellent tuition, patience and guidance of Natalia. I definitely recommend this course to anyone who wants a most enjoyable, fulfilling and creative day out. Thank you!"

Teresa Kent reviewed: Mosaic workshop at Jackie Nash Art

"I don’t often get to try a new craft, so this was a real treat. Jackie’s workshop is very well equipped, there’s lots of materials to choose from and freely available. Tea and cake also in plentiful supply. Jackie is knowledgable, very helpful, and I can’t recommend this highly enough. A great day out."

Jackie Nash Art responded:

"Thank you Teresa for your lovely review. Jackie"

Emma Allum reviewed: Make your own Leather Apron for the BBQ, Crafting, Utility, Workshop

"A fantastic workshop and has resulted in creating a bespoke apron that I am very proud of and I can't stop showing to everyone - even if they haven't asked to see it!! The day is very relaxed and the instructions and demonstrations are very clear and if any help is required nothing is too much trouble. The materials are fantastic quality and the range of leather is huge - the hardest bit is choosing which leather you want to use. I will definitely be booking onto some other courses this year - think it may become a bit addictive!"

Chris Horwood reviewed: French Polishing & Woodcare - Beginners Course - 1 Day

"My husband and I attended a one day course in French polishing with Ollie in early March. We had a wonderful day and found Ollie very knowledgable and a highly skilled trainer in the subject. He was happy to spend his time explaining and demonstrating the process, also helping with my project where needed. I had never done anything like this before and learnt so much, taking back home a table that before had looked very sad and had seen better days to something I was really proud of. I would definitely recommend this course however I would suggest a 2 day to fully appreciate the process. My husband like myself enjoyed the course and is planning to use the skills learnt to bring back to life other furnishings in our home. Thank you Ollie for a wonderful day."

Clare Newton reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"The loveliest morning yesterday in Kerry's cosy kitchen chatting all things candle. Kerry was very knowledgeable and welcoming, and her attention to detail is amazing, from the personalised name tags to the crumble recipe on the back of our candle workshop notes. I'm looking forward to burning my newly made candle, and also making another with the fragrance blend we made on the day. Highly recommend!"

Jo Attrill reviewed: Two day leather bag making workshop

"I recently attended one of Rosanna’s 2 day workshops where she expertly guided me through dismantling a preloved leather jacket to create a stunning tote. Not only did I gain valuable skills and knowledge, create a wonderful upcycled handbag but I also made a new friend. I am so grateful to Rosanna for generously sharing her knowledge, having abundant patience and for being so inspiring."

Samantha O'Sullivan reviewed: Get creative with silver clay - beginners silver jewellery two session course

"This was a brilliant course! The format worked perfectly. Becky was an excellent facilitator, putting everyone at ease, and giving useful advice when necessary. I loved my final pieces; I kept two for myself and gave one as a gift to my mum, who loved it too. I would recommend this highly accessible course to anyone!"

Iola Medi reviewed: Weekend landscape painting in watercolours

"This is the second time I've attended one of Georgina Rambton's watercolour courses at her beautiful studio in Beaumaris. On this occasion the focus was on landscapes and the tuition involved both group work and individual progression. I learnt a lot and had a wonderful time. I look forward to joining another one of her courses in the near future."

SALLY COOPER reviewed: Hand spinning for beginners at Cartmel Handspun

"Time flew by! What a lovely day! Elaine was fantastic in bringing together the benefit of her experience with a number of technical terms and with providing a lots of "hand on" time for us beginners. The group was small (three of us) and I think we were all on the course because the cost had been a present from a friend or from family. It was certainly one of the best presents I've ever had! Being the person I am, I've already moved on to buying books recommended on the day and I don't think it's going to be long before I buy a spinning wheel and a "crown top" and see what happens. If I can't get the hang of it - it'll be back to Elaine for guidance."

Lin Spreckley reviewed: Basket making for beginners using traditional willow basketry techniques

"A very enjoyable day - good tuition, good company and good food - thank you! I was lucky enough to share the day with a friendly bunch of mixed abilities. In spite of that we all finished the day with a very nice looking basket (admittedly most more professional than my wonky offering). This was due, in no small part, to the patience and teaching of Jon (and his lovely assistant.... ) Lunch was as good as I've had in a very long time - fresh and tasty!! I'd go again to a course run by Jon ?"

Mary Cockroft reviewed: Weave a scarf in a day - handloom weaving

"This was an absolutely excellent introduction to weaving, and yes, it is indeed possible to weave a scarf - quite a long scarf too - in a day! Anne is a really good teacher and I came home feeling so encouraged and inspired that I have already bought a small loom on which to try out my new skills. The day was also fun and therapeutic - there is nothing like focusing for a few hours on something creative to restore one’s sense of wellbeing. Thank you!"

Bridget and Jim reviewed: Woodturning courses in Hampshire - Beginners and improvers wood turning courses - Turn British, all British lathes!!

"We had a great day with Andy and each came away with a lovely ash bowl that we are really pleased with. Andy is very knowledgeable and patient, guiding us along each step and helping us correct mishaps. He has fired our enthusiasm and we are now keen to do more. The lunch was delicious, catering for our dietary requirements. We would highly recommend this day."

Tracey reviewed: Sea-glass pendant workshop

"Loved this course! Joanna is a very talented lady and has a natural ability to communicate with her students. Its so important to feel relaxed and therefore, be able to take on board instructions; not being afraid to 'have a go'. She certainly creates this empathic environment. Thank you Joanna. I'm looking forward to having another go and improving upon my creation. (If I were to change one thing it may be the ratio of student-teacher. We were a sociable group of eight but maybe six would have been even better.)"

Joanne Tinley Jewellery responded:

"Thank you for your kind words Tracey, I am very pleased to hear that you loved the course! (Regarding the class size - unfortunately limiting the class size to 6 rather than 8 would mean an increased workshop fee, nearly £20 extra in the case of this particular workshop. Some of the more advanced, technical workshops, however, are limited to 6 or sometimes even 4 students.)"

Siobhan Murphy reviewed: Mug making workshop

"I found this workshop on eventbrite and I am so glad i did! I purchased this course for my partner for his birthday and he loved it, as did I. Pottery is something that we both love to do and Carla was great. When we arrived Carla was friendly and welcoming. Everything was laid out on the table meaning that the mugs could be produced in the time and the small group size meant that 1:1 tuition was given when needed. Everything was explained step by step, no rushing just following the steps in your own time with Carla's guidance being given when ever it was needed. We both thought there was no way we could produce one mug that was usable let alone two but we did it and we were both very pleased with the workshop overall we had great fun. The mugs were truly beautiful and we are both very proud of them! Thanks again Carla for being so welcoming, we both had a great time and the mugs we produced have taken front row seats on the mug shelf! :)"

Billie reviewed: Stained glass one day course for beginners: one-to-one

Miriam Reed reviewed: Weekend landscape painting in watercolours

"Georgina's lovely art studio in the centre of beautiful Beaumaris on Anglesey is the perfect setting for a weekend of relaxed expert art tuition. With a small group there was plenty of time for individual guidance and help when needed. Beginners and more experienced artists can all benefit from Georgina's tuition. Her enthusiasm for her subject is evident. I've learned so much from this weekend, in particular - composition - shapes and forms I just love how she encouraged me to see this. Love these courses. Can't wait to join her next Watercolour weekend later this year."

Gaynor Morris reviewed: Make your own Leather Apron for the BBQ, Crafting, Utility, Workshop

"I booked this course as it seemed to include all the main skills required to start working with leather. I was not disappointed. Tracey let the student do everything themselves, nothing is pre prepared so you really do do everything yourself from choosing from a selection of hides, measuring, cutting, drawing, gluing, stitching, riveting and edging. It was a full day and I loved every minute. Tracey helped if you wanted, left you to work if you wanted, but always noticed if I was doing something wrong or needed help. The workshop is lovely and I had a really fab day. I love my apron too!!"

"I recently did this course with Natalia and would thoroughly recommend. I made five lovely silver rings (yes, five!) under her excellent tuition having never done this before. The small group size and Natalia's enthusiastic teaching style really allowed us to get stuck in and try lots of different techniques. I can't wait to go back and try more!"

Carol reviewed: Wet felting expressive landscapes in wools and silks

"Many thanks for a wonderful morning...I have always been scared to try anything creative, but you are a very encouraging teacher and allowed me to make my own picture, whilst suggesting ways to move it along a bit! I also really liked the fact I could take bits off if I didn’t like them!! Thanks again, Carol"

Felting in Devon responded:

"Thank you. It was great meeting you both. On your anniversary, too. How lovely. You definitely have hidden talents- keep it up. Judi"
