Paul reviewed: Blacksmithing Beginners day courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"I have been wanting to go on a blacksmithing course for some time and was not disappointed. The full day was excellent. Ades help and tuition was great and the hearty lunch was lovely (must remember to have a light breakfast next time!) Enjoyed it so much, can’t wait to get on the next one. Would definitely recommend this as a gift or to just do something different. Thanks again for a great day."

Karen Shewan reviewed: The Art of Journalling - a writing and bookbinding workshop

"What a lovely combination this course provided. Making the journal was a pleasure and I'm proud of the finished work. Cass's instruction videos are excellent, really clear and easy to follow. The zoom session with Julie and Cass was really enjoyable and gave me lots of ideas about how I could use the journal. A superb idea for a course. It would make a great Christmas or birthday gift for someone who likes to make things."

"Thank you so much, Karen! We're glad you enjoyed this workshop."

Karen Shewan reviewed: Exploring Collage - workshop with Julie Galante

"I loved doing this course. Julie generously shares her skills and tips, and the online resources you have access to are excellent. The course is suitable for both absolute beginners who want to get in touch with and develop their creative sides, and more experienced artists who want to use collage as a springboard to unlock ideas. I've been a practising artist for many years but recently had a creative block; collage has helped me to break thorough this. I can highly recommend this course."

Airtily responded:

"Thank you! I'm so glad you found this course useful. Sometimes a diversion into a different medium is just what we need to get past a creative block."

Sarah B reviewed: Needle felted toadstools live online workshop, wools and needles supplied

"Learn from the best! I absolutely loved my online class with Gretel - as well as being a wonderfully talented artist she's a great teacher, able to explain things in different ways until you understand. I found working through Zoom very comfortable and easy - Gretel is able to switch her camera so you can see a close up of her hands and can describe exactly the subtle feel of what you're after. I was delighted with what I could achieve and would highly recommend the class."

Gretel Parker responded:

"Thank you very much, I’m so glad you enjoyed it and I had fun too. Your toadstool turned out beautifully!"

Matt reviewed: Glass fusing private class - fun taster class for beginners

"We went to a glass workshop at the end of October. Sarah offered us visors to wear instead of our masks, which was a great idea given the duration of the workshop. We felt safe throughout, with the set up allowing social distancing. Sarah was incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, kind and helpful throughout the session, and I’d highly recommend the workshop for absolute beginners as well as those who do have some knowledge of glass fusing. We made 7 pieces in total between the two of us, and the overall experience is something we won’t forget - in a good way!"

Sarah Greening Glass responded:

"Thanks very much Matt - you made some great pieces and so pleased you enjoyed yourselves! Many thanks"

"I had a 1 to 1 course with Linda which I felt was the best way to do it. She is so welcoming and we were able to chat while we worked and she made me feel very comfortable. I learnt the skills I needed to continue to work with resin and the kit I bought from Linda will enable me to get started at home. I really recommend this course to anyone who is looking to start working with resin and needs to learn tips and tricks. Even just for a fun few hours of creativity I would recommend it as you will leave with some lovely little pieces. Thank you Linda!"

Vikki reviewed: Silver Stacking Rings Making Session

"This was one of the best days I've had since lockdown ended. I've wanted to start learning about jewellery for years and was prompted to finally go for it due to covid 19. Josephine was very informative before the course and gave me lots of options for materials etc. On the day, she was so welcoming and very helpful. She is an excellent teacher, patient and attentive but still allows you to try, make your own mistakes and learn. Her advice was invaluable and I now have beautiful rings that I made. Priceless. Everything was very covid aware and I felt very safe throughout. I can't wait to book with her again."

Tournebize Jewellery responded:

"Thank you so much Vikki, It was so nice meeting you and doing the workshop with you. I look forward to seeing you again. Best wishes"

Lesley Robinson reviewed: Japanese Folded Patchwork Bag

"I have only tried a couple of very easy, straight forward patchwork projects before. I thought the Japanese folded patchwork bag looked interesting. Making the bag was a very enjoyable way to spend a day. Originally I was going to use my sewing machine - but the great thing about this pattern is you can either use a sewing machine or hand sew. In the end I made the bag mainly by hand sewing (but I did use the sewing machine for the lining) One of the advantages of lessons on Zoom is you can see exactly what the tutor is sewing in close up. The bag is lovely and an unusual shape. as we head into another lock down I m planning to make 2 more bags - so that is 2 Christmas presents sorted!"

Bev Mayo responded:

"Thank you Lesley. I am pleased that you enjoyed the day. It was great to meet you. Bev"
