"What a great day in a beautiful setting! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our course for beginners and both came away 'dusty' but very proud of our Portland stone carvings. John was a very good instructor, with a wealth of skill and knowledge, providing all the tools we needed and giving both advice and praise to everyone in the group. "

"I enjoyed the course "Weave a Tartan Scarf". The tutors were very helpful and gave us a lot of attention. It was the first time I tried weaving and it took me the entire day to finish the scarf. It was held in a wonderful very large space. The course is a good way to learn about looms and weaving."

"Had a fantastic day at the forge hand forging axes with a couple of friends. Andy was an amazing tutor, explaining things with ease and providing demonstrations throughout. The process was broken down into stages with breaks in between, and assistance was provided to help people catch up and correct mistakes ensuring we all left with a fantastic piece. "This course was fantastic. I had never heard of Powertex but love Green man sculptures so decided on this course and am so glad I did. Karen is a great teacher and explains all steps in detail ensuring you understand everything before she moves on. There is a great balance between tutition and creativity enabling you to have a piece that you have designed yourself rather than 'put this bit here'. I really enjoyed the course and would highly recommend it. I cannot wait to hang my Green man in my garden!"

"Had a wonderful workshop with Julie - I went along with an earring design in mind and she was able to help me find a way to bring it to life. I got to do actual silversmithing and use resources I’ve never been able to before (hammering, soldering, etc) which was fantastic and really exciting. It was so good to be able to create beautiful earrings which look the way I envisioned them. Most importantly, Julie had such a lovely manner, a genuine warmth and so much passion that shines through - she’s a brilliant teacher. She also makes heavenly chocolate brownies, so say ‘yes’ to the yummy snacks being offered so you get to enjoy those brownies :D All in all, a fantastic experience that I thoroughly recommend! "

Her enthusiasm and zest for life, combined with a light, airy studio set-up, the beautiful location, and unending supply of refreshments, make for a great time. Without doubt the best craft course I have been on, and one if which I'm reminded every time I look out on to the garden and see a hare leaping out from under the apple tree. "
