Melanie G reviewed: Double-Sided Lampshade Making

"This was my third course at this delightful place. Wendy is so patient and helpful. Myself and the other student are slow learners so we overran the allotted time. Although Wendy had another class in the afternoon she didn't hurry us at all which was great as I took my time and was so pleased with the end result. I've previously attended candle making and soap making classes here and can't recommend it highly enough. I will definitely be returning "

Annie Evans reviewed: 'Make a silver ring' jewellery taster workshop - Somerset

"A great session with really good and clear instruction given. The session was with four learners and Rod was able to share his time and give equal attention to all of us. I picked up so much and he made it easy to learn with his enthusiasm and skill. I would recommend this and am planning to return for more sessions in the future. Frome is a great place to visit and there are several hotels within walking distance of the studio. I'm inspired and looking forward to visiting again! Thanks Rod! "

Roderick Vere responded:

"The pleasure was all mine Annie! Glad you both enjoyed yourself. Thanks for booking on and hope you enjoyed your biscuits and wine back at the hotel! Take care and keep on making, Rod"

Henry reviewed: 4h mosaic workshop for beginners

"Fantastic session, we had such a great time! I'd never done a mosaic class before, so wasn't sure what to expect. Marie-Paule was lovely and gave really useful instructions to help us get the most from the medium. The session was in a really beautiful space surrounded by many of her own mosaics, which were great for inspiration. The time flew by and she even let us stay a little longer so we had time to finish them. 10/10 would recommend. Thanks so much Marie-Paule! ☺️"

mppmosaic responded:

"Hi Henry and Isabel, thank you very much for your kind words and your great enthusiasm throughout the workshop, it was a real pleasure teaching you. All the best with your future artistic explorations! Marie-Paule"

Kevan Hall reviewed: Carving & sculpture workshops

"I had a fantastic day with Gareth, as a complete beginner in woodcarving it is a real privilege to have a whole day of 1-2-1 tuition and wide ranging conversation from a real artist and a patient teacher. Seeing into the home he is rebuilding in his own image alone was worth the 4 hour drive. He promised we would get into the zone and I really did, the sense of mindfulness stayed with me for hours afterwards. Thanks Gareth"

Tim Reed reviewed: Candle making workshops for beginners - St Albans, Hertfordshire

"Had a great morning learning about and making candles with Anne. She's helpful, patient and knowledgeable and has the workshop set up very well so the unskilled can't go too far wrong! We made 3 candles each and some melts, all involving colours and scents provided by Anne. Went as a couple and very enjoyable and recommended for a fun experience."

Neil Lucock reviewed: Cap making workshops

"The course runs from 10 to 4 pm in the centre of Mold. I tried to find it on Google Maps, but an email to Paula confirmed that I need the blue door next to the Griffin Inn. There's plenty of parking in Mold, it costs £1.50 for the day. The course is held upstairs, if you have difficulty getting up two flights of stairs, you might struggle. There are several rooms, a loo, brew room with settees, a room with cutting tables and a room with desks and sewing machines. The day starts with tea or coffee. Paula made several drinks during the day, so great hospitality. There was also a nice piece of cake in the afternoon. You have to take the material you want to use, but Paula supplies Buckram, linings and stiffenings. The first job is to cut out all the pieces you'll need. This is easy enough, but Paula is there to offer help. Once that's done, most of the rest of the day is just sewing it together. I haven't used a sewing machine before, but her instructions were clear and she was always there to help if necessary. Each stage is checked before the next one, so you can't really go wrong. You have a choice of the style of caps you can make, I chose a captain's cap. I'd finished by 15.30. The cap looks really great and fits well. I'd not done anything like this before, the course is run by someone who clearly knows what she is doing. Paula explains things well, and is really hospitable and friendly. Recommend 100%, great value for money and really fun."

"I thoroughly enjoyed Pat’s course and would highly recommend it. Tuition was friendly and supportive and Pat had an amazing selection of beads for us to choose from. I couldn’t be happier with the lovely charm bracelet and 3 pairs of earrings I made. Pat took time helping each person to make their own individually styled jewellery, whilst also providing us with delicious homemade treats. The chocolate brownies were amazing! "
