About the Course
This exciting creative 1:1 workshop is great for beginners. You will learn how to prepare your fabric, set up your machine and get ‘drawing’ wibbly wobbly stitches making pictures and designs, without your ‘feeds’. You will add fabric and paint during the day to get a feel of textures and colour.
By the end of the class you’ll have a selection of sample pieces and have created your very own piece of work framed in an embroidery hoop.
The workshop runs from 10am – 4pm (may run over time as we want you to go away with your finished piece)
Free motion sewing is in fact ‘drawing’ with your sewing machine. On this course you will play with your machine learning a different style of sewing. Most of the usual sewing rules are disregarded.
You will need to bring your own sewing machine, if you can drop the feed and have an embroidery foot attachment, alternatively one will be provided. Be prepared to be amazed at learning a new way to sew with your machine.
Learn how to:
* Set up your machine for free motion sewing.
* Sew in a way that you feel like you are ‘drawing’ with your machine.
* Use fabrics to make applique designs.
* Add colour using fabric paints, including setting heat setting.
* Experiment with free motion writing.
* Design your final piece using the techniques learnt in the morning, letting your creativity flow.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

Brillian day with Caroline, she is a great teacher, very patient and gave clear instructions. We started with the basics and worked on more complex sewing by the afternoon.
Cant wait to get started at home.
