"A wonderful course. I had no prior experience so did feel a bit nervous; there was no need!! Linda was fabulous, she is a great teacher with a good sense of humour. It was such a positive, fun experience and the results of our efforts were amazing! My daughter and I were so proud of our hares. We enjoyed it so much we have booked for Linda’s Highland Cow workshop. "

Irene Kidney reviewed: Take raw fleece to finished fibre 2-day spinning workshop

"This course did exactly what I wanted it to. I learnt a mountain of new skills from Elaine who was so patient and kind. I went with my own spinning wheel without any knowledge of how to do anything with it. The advice was immeasurable. I feel confident that should I become stuck, Elaine won’t mind my questions, hope I’m right. I intend to practice until I can do the job properly. Thank you Elaine, the perfect course for me. "

Cartmel Handspun Spinning School responded:

"Thank you Irene. I really hope you keep on spinning with your lovely inherited wheel. Best wishes Elaine"

Guy reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"I was given the course as a present and was slightly anxious about my artistic skills. Sebastian's light touch approach allowed me to achieve so much more than I thought possible. I successfully carved a gravestone for my father, a first for me and Sebastian. Thoroughly recommended as a present or for a group of friends."

"Fantastic weekend with the wonderful Arian. I can’t recommend it enough."

Nailsworth Community Workshop responded:

"Thank you Nick, for this feedback, as well as your work and creativity throughout the weekend. I really enjoyed that in addition to the practical process itself, you also had the chance to use the deer antler (that followed you around for so many years) for the handle. I'm sure there will be many stories to come over the years! Best regards, and thank you again. Arian"

Gareth reviewed: Wooden mechanical toy (automata) making

"A really enjoyable day. I was surprised by what was achieved in a very short time. Stef is a great teacher, good selection of tools, good location in central Bristol. I was very happy to produce a working, finished toy by the end of the day. A surprising Christmas present which I would never have picked for myself, but after spending the day I found it really worthwhile and I would recommend it to a person interested in wood work or other crafts. Michelle Talbot reviewed: Bladesmithing Experience Day

"I bought a voucher for my 16 year old daughter to attend the 1 day bladesmithing course with Graham, David and Decklan and we both had a great time! Everything was clearly explained and suitable for a complete novice and there was plenty of help when you needed it and plenty of independence when you didn't. There was no rushing or pressure and by the end of the day everyone had a very impressive knife to take home. It was amazing to see the knives take form from plain lumps of metal over a few hours. There was a great atmosphere with lots of friendly banter throughout the day to go with the hard work. There was as much tea, coffee, Pepsi Coke, bottled water, biscuits and crisps as you wanted through the day as well as a selection of delicious paninis for lunch. Thanks so much to Graham, David and Decklan for the great experience, we hope to come back one day in the future to do the 2 day course. "

Clarke Knives responded:

"It was a great day and Willow's knife was a beauty. We all look forward to seeing you again."

"Really enjoyable couple of hours learning how to make candles, and actually making some ourselves that we were able to take home. So many scents to choose from, and the candles we've made smell amazing. Also did other crafty things, such as printing designs to adhere onto pillar candles. Would recommend to people who enjoy candles and want to get to know how to make them yourself!"

"When my son and I arrived, and Simon greeted us, we just knew it was going to be a good day! From the tools to techniques, Simon explained and demonstrated everything clearly, and was happy to help if we had any questions or were struggling in any way. We had plenty of hands on experience during the day, and had our bowls and honey dippers to prove it! We’ve definitely learnt a lot. With great food, plenty of drinks, story telling and banter, we were well looked after throughout. Thank you Simon and Louise for a thoroughly enjoyable experience, we hope to see you both again soon. Phil and Harvey"
