Betty reviewed: Two day dry stone walling course for beginners in association with Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain

"The instructors were friendly and informative. They had tremendous patience and were very empathetic with my lack of knowledge. I learned a lot and now in awe of the thousands of hours that must have been put in to our British heritage of dry stone walling. Hats off- total respect! I can't go past a wall now and not compare it to what I now know."

Dry Stone Walling Association Lancashire Branch responded:

"Betty Thank you, the pleasure was all ours. You all delivered a wonderful wall, constructed correctly that should last longer than its predecessor. The Beauty of this location, is, you can take your whole family to show them what you have built. Paul"

Stephen Wylie reviewed: One day Bag making traditional leather workshop (tote bag / side bag)

"Completed this course on Sat 15 Jul 23. I was the only student so got one-to-one personal tuition. As a total novice to patterns and leather, Kingley was able to explain and give confidence as what was desired to achieve the outcome we both expected. His explanations and demonstrations gave me all I needed to produce the final high quality product. When sewing the bag and I got threads intertwined he was able to back track and fix allowing me to continue. Highly recommended course and a quality personally made product to keep at the end. Highly recommended. A bag and memory that will last a lifetime."

Andrew Charlesworth reviewed: Painting and leading a glass panel

"Being a complete novice, Caryl did a first class job in explaining and demonstrating the tools and techniques. The whole process was broken down into stages and she ensured each of the four attendees were familiar with what was required. At the end of the course I came away with a piece of work with which I am delighted. Caryl's training style is excellent as were the facilities and goods provided. All in all, a great weekend. Thank you"

Caryl Hallett Stained Glass responded:

"Thank you so much Andrew for taking the time to post this review. Hope your busy bee panel got home safely with you and it now sits in pride of place in your home! Caryl "

You mentioned a strong desire to continue your experience, I put together an information packet for people starting off which might help. https://www.instructables.com/Getting-Started-With-Wood-Turning-tools-Techniques/ I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future and seeing your name as an author in woodworking magazines in the future. Anita Justice reviewed: Glass fusing workshop - 1 day

"We had fantastic full day with Jill. Plenty of time for tuition and making a number of pieces. It's best to go with some idea of what you'd like to make and to contact Jill beforehand so she can set up accordingly. Though if you have no idea that works too, it just means you'll spend a bit less time making. "

Fired Glass responded:

"Thanks Anita, pleased to hear you and Kim enjoyed your time with us. First time sessions are always tricky as most people don't know what to make or what is possible. If you decide to return then it is so much easier second time around. Jill has started to fire your pieces already, some went in the kiln today! Very exciting. Kind regards John and Jill "

Karen reviewed: Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving Workshop, Fisherton Mill, Salisbury

"I loved the day I spent with Ellie learning how to set up the loom and to weave. I've never tried this before and was a complete beginner. Ellie is a brilliant teacher. She really takes the time to explain and appreciates that people learn at different speeds! She is very kind and patient :) I came home with a beautiful (even if I say so myself ;) )wall hanging...as did the other ladies on the day long course. The yarns we had available to weave with were beautiful and varied. The course notes given out were very understandable. It really was a great day and I would 100% recommend and attend another. "
