Join us for willow work courses near Tonbridge.
Next up, willow wreath making workshops. For the last few years the walled garden, has been our venue for seasonal, sustainable, natural, willow wreath making. You will learn to make a willow base, which will then be selectively covered with a selection of previously locally gathered foliage. You will be able to bring any of your own elements to add to the wreath, the emphasis will be on natural looking. Please see link to fb page for previous years photos. Mince pies and mulled wine, with paper plates and cups, (all other food and drink we are asking this year to bring your own coffee tea in flasks etc so we can be covid 19 compliant.)
If there is interest we may run another animal/bird /sphere willow sculpture course. Please do get in touch, we are running courses with 5 people which allows for good social distancing in the garden or large potting shed!
We have been making all sorts of beautiful things in willow for the last few years in the lovely walled garden at Oxon Hoath Country Estate. Sharon has been leading willow courses at Oxon Hoath and in many other locations and in schools. Living willow installations are also undertaken.
See Sharon's willow facebook page via the link button above. She won Gold for the willow garden - (Blackbird Academy) at Blenheim Flower Show, presented by Monty Don. But don't let that discourage you! ... the willow courses are for beginners and anyone! We work with a small group and at your own pace.

I enjoyed a beautiful sunny late winters day making 2 obelisks to take home. I learned so much, the instruction and demonstration was excellent! Sharon gave me some extra tips and ideas for making other plant supports at home too.
The lunch of a bowl of warming soup and a roll was delicious to.
My neighbours saw me walking the obelisks into my garden and thought I had bought them, they were surprised when I said “no I made them” with a big smile on my face 😀
I would definitely recommend this course to anyone!
Response from Sharon Pottery Classes:Thanks Louise for the review I am glad the course met with your expectation, the weather was a bonus too! It was good to work with a professional gardener.
