"A wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable course which is all about letting go and loosening up and seeing where the process takes you. I found it immensely helpful not just in terms of collage but more generally from a creative perspective and I can't wait to put what I learnt into practice. Jane is a lovely person and very welcoming. You are guaranteed a great day!"

Keith Lockwood reviewed: Five day woodwork course - tools

"I’ve just spent a very enjoyable week on course 1. The workshop is a great and realistic place to work and the limit to 4 students works well. To come away with a valued product is a great feeling. Mark’s tuition is friendly, but professional, by demonstrating and talking about the various aspects of the tools and techniques is a very informative way of presenting the course. I was so impressed, I will probably do another."

Sally reviewed: Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving Workshop, Fisherton Mill, Salisbury

"What a fabulous creative day. I've just got home from a superb day course an "Introduction to Frame Weaving" at Fisherton Mill Salisbury run by Ellie of Elka sustainable textiles. Ellie was a fantastic teacher, really thorough with her instructions and explanations. Very patient and happy to answer questions and give individual attention when required. The course materials were amazing, a huge choice of sustainable yarns and fibres to choose from. Her knowledge of the sustainable & renewable materials and methods of production was immense and her enthusiasm and love of this subject shone through and was inspirational. I had a really enjoyable day, have created an awesome (if I may say so myself!) wall hanging that I'm thrilled with. I would definitely recommend Ellie's courses. "

Elka responded:

"Thank you so much Sally for the lovely review, it was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with you all. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the workshop, your wall hanging is brilliant, you're a natural!"

Brooke reviewed: Pottery wheel throwing taster

"We had a great afternoon learning how to throw on the pottery wheel. It was our first time and had no previous experience. Richard's class was pitched just right and was good fun. After teaching us the basics and producing a couple of pots we got the chance to do a few more to test what we'd learned. It made a great birthday present and would highly recommend."

Potterydayz responded:

"It was a pleasure to see you here at Potterydayz for some throwing. Thank you for your review and recommendation. I hope to see you again soon."

Great relaxed atmosphere, Marie made us feel very welcome and spent lots of time with us making sure we were happy with our glass creations. Kim & Tony reviewed: "2 Crafts in 1 Day!" pairs - woodturning & pottery experience

"We did the 2 in 1 craft day, pottery and wood turning. Never touched a lathe or a potters wheel before and we came out with some high quality stuff. It was a fantastic day. The attention and instruction we got from Louise and Simon was awesome, they really are passionate about what they do. Also, if you like a chat you won't be disappointed, you can't shut them up (which is a good thing). They were always guiding and positive but left you to your own creative talents. The workshops are a lovely environment to learn and be in. The knowledge they leak out to you is so absorbing you can't help but be amazed. I'm sat at home writing this and still recalling some wonderful information that you get from this very friendly couple. You will get some lovely lunch in their kitchen and the encouragement about life skills and well being are always on their mind. Everybody who meets Louise & Simon will think I have the best friends in the world. I encourage you all to book a craft class or two and defo stay at the Crafters Retreat Lodge. The Lodge is a dream. Go and give it a go. All the best Louise & Simon Tony & Kim x "

"What a great day and experience, I would recommend to anybody. All ages and sizes would be able to craft one of these amazing knifes. Don't think you wouldn't be able to complete. Louise D reviewed: Five day woodwork course - tools

"Just finished the 5 day course and I am setting off with my step stool in the car feeling proud as punch. The whole week was great, excellent tuition, not only to complete your project but also on wider woodworking subjects. The workshop is cosy with tea and coffee and biscuits. This week I have used lots of clever woodworking machines (with great supervision and explanation to boost confidence and stay safe) as well as the more basic chisels and scrapers that I used at school a million years ago. I’d recommend this course to everyone. Deeply enjoyable to make something from beautiful wood. Thanks to Mark. "

Lily reviewed: Gem cutting - cabochon cutting and an introduction to faceting

"This was an excellent introduction for me to gem cutting. James had a really pleasant pace of teaching. Cutting the cabochon was a completely new and alien experience for me, but there was no pressure and I had good doses of guidance in combination with a freedom to explore. "

Ginny reviewed: Introduction to Table Loom Weaving Workshop (Two-Day), Fisherton Mill, Salisbury

"Fabulous two day table loom workshop, from warping to cloth. A well structured two days with clear instructions, and an opportunity for each participant to go at our own pace. Ellie is very patient and has a way of keeping things simple and easy to understand, which meant the task of warping the 4 shaft loom was a calm and enjoyable experience and one that I feel confident that I could repeat independently. The class size of 3 meant we all got so much support and guidance. Once the loom was dressed, the second day was spent exploring weaving patterns. All materials were included in the course fee and we were spoilt for choice. I was delighted that beautiful naturally dyed threads were available to use as well as organic cotton and linens. I am so pleased I invested in this two days, definitely great value and a good kick start for anyone wanting to get into weaving. Thank you Ellie! "

Elka responded:

"Thank you so much Ginny for such a lovely and detailed review, and for coming. I’m delighted that you enjoyed the workshop and feel that you’ll be able to get going with weaving at home. I’m looking forward to following your weaving journey and I’m here for any questions that may arise moving forwards. "

Rose Carpenter reviewed: Quilt in a Day, one-to-one course with Amanda Jane Ogden

"Having only signed up for the quilt in a day one-to-one course two days before it started, Amanda communicated with me straight away to prepare us both for the day. Amanda is the perfect teacher, kind, patient and completely brilliant at guiding you through the intricacies of quilt making. I've learnt so much and feel confident enough to get going on some projects of my own. We are both passionate about sustainability so we were able to share these values too. Can't recommend this day course highly enough. "

Amanda Jane Textiles responded:

"Thank you so much for this review, Rose. You produced a really excellent quilt, well done! Amanda"
