Alessia Calcaterra reviewed: Candle making workshops for beginners - St Albans, Hertfordshire

"This is an amazing course, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Anne is wonderful, friendly and welcoming. You get a fun and relaxed atmosphere whilst gaining knowledge about candle making from Anne. The actual candle making is great, you make various different size candles and some wax melts, there are lots of scents and colours to use, all included in this course, it's well worth the money. Anne shares her knowledge about candle making, answers any questions and also provides you with her suppliers, which is brilliant if you have just started candle making. I would definitely recommend this course, thank you so much Anne. "

Greg Scott reviewed: Beginners 1-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"Thank you Blended Monkey for a brilliant day's woodturning. If you're interested in having a go at woodturning and getting a crash course in the basics, you will not do better than this. Simon's tuition was excellent, allowing me plenty of hands-on time at the lathe, whilst also intervening when necessary to ensure I didn't ruin my projects! I came away with 2 lovely creations (honey dipper and bowl), a set of photos which Simon took during the day, and a great set of pdf notes (provided by Simon) covering pretty much all we'd done during the day. Simon and Louise are very friendly hosts, so I enjoyed chatting throughout the day, and over lunch / refreshments, which were also great. Thank you!"

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Thanks for the lovely review, Greg. So pleased you had a great day. Do get in touch if you need any further help with setting up, etc.. -- Simon"

Nikki & David Rabjohns reviewed: Potter's wheel pottery - half day course Siramik

"Wonderful half day with Yoka. Brilliant teacher. Yoka has such a passion for her art and she makes the session a lovely learning experience. Fascinating to hear about the properties of different pottery …stoneware, clay, porcelain etc and then to experience working with the clay and making our own pots ! Can’t wait to see them glazed. It’s a much more complex process than we could have imagined. Thank you Yoka "

Madeleine reviewed: Spoon Carving with Touchwood Glasgow

"We had an excellent day with Robert! He had lots of spoons on show for inspiration and talked us through the types of wood they were made from. We got to handle different types of tools. We had a choice of woods to work with - I went for some Lime! Robert is an excellent and patient teacher, making adjustments for techniques that work for each individual! It was relaxed and almost meditative day - lots of fun and some good chat. Plus you get information on how to acquire your own tools and continue developing your carving skills! Would definitely recommend you book in."

Vivien reviewed: Clay animal sculpture course at Middleton Hall

"This was a great course - well suited to beginners (which I am not - I have done a lot of work with clay) but also ideal as an introduction to sculpting in clay. Miranda the teacher was brilliant at judging exactly the right amount of support and advice to give out and was incredibly conscientious at getting around all the students to offer support continually. In spite of knowing a lot about working with clay already I learnt absolutely loads and would thoroughly recommend the course to anyone."

Amerton Arts Studio responded:

"Many thanks for your kind review Vivien. Best wishes Miranda"

Victoria reviewed: Potter's wheel pottery - half day course Siramik

"I booked a half day course at Siramik hoping to learn a few of the basics of pottery. The morning just flew by with Yoka and a small group of fellow potters... educational, entertaining and more than anything a real insight into what it takes to 'throw a pot'....the opportunity to be a little creative was a bonus after just a few hours! The studio was in a beautiful location and Yoka is passionate about her craft....would definitely recommend."

Mrs Margaret Malcolm reviewed: Introduction to table loom weaving: 1-day taster workshop

"I had such an enjoyable day with Pamela! I had done some weaving before on a simple loom but using an 8-shaft loom was an eye-opening experience and I think I will be saving the pennies to buy one of my own! Pamela was good at explaining the things which were pertinent to me and I now feel so much better informed about yarns and the many different patterns that can be weaved with the 8-shaft loom. AND the day was fun! Thank you Pamela."

"Thank you for the positive review Margaret! It was a pleasure teaching you. Please do keep me informed on your progress."
