Options within jewellery making are endless and can be overwhelming. Alison Flanders offers a taster session for those not ready to commit just yet but wish to have an introduction by making stacking rings using sterling silver. The workshop runs for 2.5 hours and can overrun a little longer if the students need extra time.
Classes are held in her dedicated studio and each student has their own bench with all tools and equipment. At the moment she has a 2 benches fully set-up so each student will get plenty of individual guidance.
By the end of this session you will have learned how to :-
Measure ring lengths
Use the jewellers saw
Anneal metal
Use pliers and mandrels to form the ring
Solder with pillions
Use files
Texturing using hammers and punches
Polish and Finish your ring
Safe and proper use of the tools, crucial to working in any craft, are identified for the students’ future practice.

All materials are provided. All you need is to bring yourself. Please wear closed toed shoes. Bring glasses you need for reading if necessary and something to tie back long hair.
