Introduction to portrait sculpture at Middleton Hall

This weekend course is for anyone who would like to learn how to begin creating a realistic portrait in clay. Introducing the fundamental skills needed we take take the long-established academic approach focusing on technique, proportion, structure and anatomy using traditional style portrait busts as models. Suitable for complete beginners or more experienced sculptors. The course is taught by Miranda, a professional figurative sculptor and trained tutor with over 20 years experience. You may take your portrait sculpture home at the end of the course or leave it to be fired and collect it later.

All tools, materials, reference, tutoring and firing of work plus light refreshments throughout the day.
