This course introduces the fundamental skills needed to create a portrait in clay. We will cover the practicalities of working with clay and the principles of proportion and anatomy whilst also exploring the form of familiar features, many people find they look at faces differently after this course!
We use three dimensional 'museum inspired' portrait busts to work from so that everyone can get up close to study form or take measurements - they keep very still too! The course is taught by Miranda, a professional sculptor and trained tutor with over 20 years experience. You may take your historically inspired sculpture home at the end of the course or leave it to be fired and collect it later.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
