Two day stone carving course at Avoncroft museum
Description
Keen to try something different? Looking for a new hobby? Complete beginners are very welcome as are those with some sculptural experience. On this two day course, you will learn fundamental stone carving techniques whilst also getting to grips with the process of three dimensional carving. After introducing you to course materials, tools and the carving process Miranda will give step-by-step guidance and demonstrations to help you create your own beautifully finished limestone carving to take home with you. We have a choice of projects with examples and templates to help you get started (examples shown in our photographs). Your tutor is Miranda, a professional sculptor and qualified teacher who will help you skillfully complete a carving you will be proud of. Our workshop space is inside an historic barn forming part of Avoncroft museum's collection. There is a cafe onsite for lunch or you may bring your own. We run exactly the same course with the same tutor at other venues around the country, all bookable through craft courses website. FAQs
Yes there is a lovely café onsite to buy lunch or you can bring a packed lunch.
Yes the course runs on 2 consecutive days. The listing on craft courses shows the first of the two days but the course is a 2 day workshop. We often run a 2 day course and then another 2 day course back to back. The date for the next course sometimes confuses people as this is for the first day of the next course.
