Michael Milner reviewed: Hardwood table furniture-making course with Finbarr Lucas

"Had a great time and learned so much, thank you!! Finbarr is an outstanding craftsman and teacher, and creates a relaxed, friendly environment in his workshop. Learned numerous techniques using primarily hand tools, along with some power tools and machines, and made a beautiful oak table to take home at the end. Also excellent cakes. Highly recommend this course! "

Finbarr Lucas responded:

"I’m so pleased you enjoyed the course Mike, and thank you for this positive review. It was fantastic to have you in the workshop, and help you as you created your table. As we discussed, the course is a bit of a hybrid, using mainly hand tools but employing some machinery as well, giving I hope a good range of activities and skills to practise, and also ensuring everything gets made in the three days! You worked diligently and carefully and your table reflected this approach, with lovely neat joints and finely sanded oak parts. Well done!"

Suzanne reviewed: Create with a Gel Printing Plate - Mono Printing Without a Press

"This was a really fun day course! We learnt the art of using gel plates to create art with acrylic paint. Alison is a great teacher, She methodically taught us the various techniques. It was relaxing, fun and sometimes surprising ! I am now back home putting the newly learned techniques into practice. There are a myriad of possibilities, once you learn the basics, and some of these new techniques give great depth and atmosphere when added to more traditional paintings. Focusing on art for a whole day was a great relaxation, in a beautiful and very friendly environment deep in the country. I recommend this class to anyone who likes to be creative. "

Blooming Designs - Art in the Barn responded:

"Dear Suzanne, Thank you so much for your lovely feedback, I am so pleased you enjoyed the day and are putting what you have learned into practice at home. Gel plate printing has so many possibilities and is such a fun technique so I am really pleased you have embraced it so well - enjoy ! Best wishes Alison"

Jenny from Halifax reviewed: Silk Painting in Glengarry, Highland (2 Day Course)

"This course has been a great experience for me. As someone who from childhood always felt lacking in creativity or artistic skills, I have succeeded in making something really beautiful and unique. Ross is a great teacher, able to explain the different processes really clearly and to gently encourage me as I went along. The colours she got me to use are so vibrant, and I especially loved the effects created by the salt process. I was fortunate to be able to stay here too. The loch and the woods and hills are so lovely, and the peace and quiet of the place was just what I needed. A very special experience."

Glengarry Silk Studio responded:

"Jenny, it was a pleasure to see you and your friend Denise both blossom and increase in confidence over the two days of our course together. You were both so enthusiastic to learn and were able to produce beautiful scarves. A perfect reminder of a stay in a very special Glen."

Heather reviewed: Mandala Creation Drawing Workshop in the Peak District

"I didn't know what to expect on this course really, part of me thought that the mandalas would be done on a computer program that would replicate the design! The whole course was great, learning the process of creating a mandala from scratch by hand, and then colouring it in was one of the most relaxing crafts I've ever done. The results of everybody's mandala was so different, yet we all started from the same place. Thoroughly recommend this to anyone who is curious!"

Tamdala responded:

"Thankyou Heather for your review. 🙏🏼😊 I am so pleased you enjoyed it and felt the theraputic aspect to creative practice. It’s so mindful, so enjoy creating and decompressing with your mandala kit. x"
