Julie and Peter Ross reviewed: Lino Printing Day with Oxford Linocut Workshops

"Not only is Claire a hugely talented artist but she has the patience to encourage complete novices to complete very satisfying pieces of work. She provides advice and guidance but never "takes over" so the end result is all your own work! We will definitely carry on!"

Ted Waldron reviewed: Learn to carve wooden spoons, beginners and improvers

"Dave’s calm, gently humorous approach created a friendly atmosphere and made sure everyone felt at home. The course was filled with information from the safe use of sharp tools to how to read the grain of your log. Dave is clearly very knowledgable spoon carving and all other aspects of green woodworking. At the end of the day I came away with 2 spoons and a great deal of knowledge to propel me forward in my spoon carving adventure."

Alison Harrington reviewed: Introduction to leatherwork with Armitage Leather

"What a fantastic course! I have been on many courses but by far, this is the best course I have ever been on. I am so new to leather working and from the off, Nigel was so patient and took me through what the day would entail, and the processes needed to produce a finished item, as well as giving a very interesting insight on the history of leather. I cannot believe how much I learnt. Designing, pattern drafting, pattern cutting, choosing leather, bevelling, slicking, saddle stitching and finishing and so much more all in one day! I am really chuffed and proud of what I was able to achieve with Nigel’s help and knowledge and cannot wait to move on to more challenging items. As I progress, I will most definitely be returning to do more courses. I left armed with knowledge, skills and confidence to work out a design on my own and to see it through to the finished product, but also know Nigel is just an email away for advice should I feel I need it. I have also subscribed to Nigel’s Vimeo channel and would absolutely encourage anyone who wants to get in to leather work and produce well-made beautiful products, to do the same. The videos are brilliant, Nigel not only explains clearly, he takes you right through each of the processes with very clear tutorials and lots of tips on tools and much more. Nigel, thank you for such a productive and memorable day, and for your generosity in sharing your knowledge willingly, to help others."

We had the freedom to create our own unique products from a large selection of natural ingredients and we were all very pleased with the finished items which we were able to take home. I would highly recommend this workshop."

Jill Bradley reviewed: Crafts in the Valley - Felted Pictures Workshop in Cragg Vale, Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire

"Just attended this wonderful workshop and can highly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in learning more about felting. I was amazed how much we covered in one day ... including a yummy lunch ! Melanie Louise is an organised and thoughtful teacher who seemed to guide everyone through their different projects. I came away feeling much more confident in my ability and with a lovely piece of art I’m going to treasure. Todmorden is also a gem and well worth a visit with lots of arty shops and a relaxed vibe. Loved the course and will be doing more workshops with crafts in the valley ?"

Lizzie Britland reviewed: 1-to-1 tailored course with one of the UK's leading glass artists Jennifer Barker, at the Cheshire School of Glass

"Jenny is the real deal. Her knowledge of glass techniques is incredible. I thought the one to one was a lot of money until I came away from an incredible day where I made and learnt so much. I now realise it was really good value for money. Jenny is easy to get on with and is welcoming and relaxed. She teaches with genuine enthusiasm and in my view, is the best glass fuser in the business. A real professional."

Thomas Miles reviewed: Creating a Viking knife an introduction to forging and knife making at Bearded Pig Forge

Roger Sylvester-Bradley reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"I'm a crop scientist, so I hate it when people only think food comes from shops. But then I was thinking spoons and forks come from shops ... I hadn't thought that forging was needed, or what forging really meant ... but once I'd twigged it's about melting and bashing bits of metal, I really enjoyed it ... and as everyone else is saying, Nigel was an excellent and enthusiastic introducer ... and now I have my own self-made spoon ... and poker, BBQ spatula, and weird wiggly thing to stick in the garden, etc. Activity / experience gifts seem to be in fashion, and this is one, par excellence, especially if you arrive from outer space, like me."

Helen reviewed: Bird sculpture - clay, paper, mixed media craft workshop

"What a wonderful day! I was nervous at first being a beginner to sculpting. However I ended up with two wonderful if somewhat quirky birds! I love them Nikki is lovely and so talented - she was very patient throughout the day, and explained things clearly. She had loads of materials to choose from and everything was set up really well. The studio is very well positioned and light and airy. Nikki made the whole experience really enjoyable. Playing Enya in the background set it off perfectly for me! I wholly recommend this course and I am planning to go back to tackle something else - now I am brimming with confidence in my artistic abilities! Thank you so much Nikki - Humphrey is already settling in well to his new home and haven't worked out what the girl is called yet!"

NIKKI SZABO responded:

"Thank you so much Helen! It was lovely meeting you and I am so pleased you enjoyed the day. Nikki x"

Tania reviewed: 1-Day Jewellery Making Silver Copper Workshop for 2 people

"I thoroughly enjoyed Linda’s workshop. There was a small group of 4 which was perfect. We had the choice of making earrings, pendant, bangle or a ring. I decided on some earrings. Linda was really encouraging and gave lots of guidance so we could achieve something special. I decided on a pair of earrings and I’m so thrilled with them! Not only did I learn a lot of jewellery making skills, I also learnt another technique called keum boo where you bond 24ct gold onto your piece. Thanks Linda for such a great day. Can’t wait to come back"

Linda Sandeman Jewellery responded:

"Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It was so lovely having you there. Loved your design on your earrings. The keum boo really sets them off. :-)"
