This is a hand embroidery, slow stitching workshop for all those people who need to escape from their everyday chaotic life and completely lose themselves in this addictive hobby. Many garden border samplers will be shown as examples and once you have chosen your colours and fabrics and threads, you will be guided through each stage.
You will be shown how to layer fabrics successfully and use stitches to build up textured flowers and foliage- sometimes the most simple stitches are the most effective!
This is suitable for a complete beginner or the more advanced embroiderer. At the end of the day you will take away a completed hand stitched garden border, or maybe two if you're keen!
All workshops and larger images can be viewed and booked through the website at the top of the page.
There is onsite parking. If coming by train, Pershore is the nearest station and a short taxi ride away. Accommodation can also be found there.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
All materials are provided for the day; just bring yourself. You can borrow a hoop if you prefer to stitch using one (I don't). Refreshments will be provided, please bring lunch.

What a wonderful craft shed!
Julie is inspirational, encouraging and a very patient teacher.
I can't praise her highly enough.
My garden border was mounted and I took away a lovely finished piece- I'm coming back!
Lovely location and facilities. Very clear guidance, expert tuition. Good range of fabrics, threads and beads. I learnt so much today and actually took home a finished mounted, piece of embroidery. Thank you so much.
A very enjoyable day- clear explanations/demonstrations and a wide variety of materials to work with. Lovely to go on a course where everything is provided- saves the stress of carrying everything you might need- very grateful for this!
A calm, purposeful approach- really enjoyed the "can do" of the day. I feel I achieved today!
Brilliant! I loved the highly structured nature of the course starting with choice and initial fabric. Excellent examples of stitches. Would come again and be more adventurous with choice of stitches. Very good teacher, highly recommend.
Julie's workshop was exactly what I was hoping for. Her freestyle embroidery is just what I wanted and she enabled us to all make a completed piece and learn many techniques. Lovely atmosphere and great carrot cake- highly recommended.
Fabulous day. Thoroughly enjoyed creating a unique flower border. Very easy to follow instructions. Julie was great support when it came to recommending colours and positioning etc. Lovely setting. Very relaxing day and great cake! Anyone can do it.
