David Billett reviewed: Blacksmithing Beginners day courses in Yorkshire and the North East

"The course, this time on Garden Flowers, was my third, and I was again well pleased with my efforts. Adrian and Andy, as always, gave expert tuition and enthusiastic support, while Debbie provided superb sustenance. The social atmosphere created by the participants enhances the enjoyment of the day. I will be seeking a reason to return and thoroughly recommend the experience."

Iain Laurie reviewed: Fused Glass Workshops for beginners & experienced

"We had a really excellent day doing glass fusion. Lovely place, great teaching, very nice people and got to make 5 coasters and a bowl. I bought it for my wife as a Christmas present, and I can recommend doing this as a gift for someone, she loved it and we have some beautiful items to show for it, plus some less beautiful ones that I made. Thrilled with the whole thing."

Tarl Bruton reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"Nigel flawlessly managed to teach three of us at once, the smoothness of his teaching allowed for all three of us to learn the basics then make four very different things (each) in one day. Personally, Nigel was very welcoming, a super interesting guy with a myriad of amazing and quirky stories that he wove seamlessly in with teaching us. The grounds of the forge were beautiful too, peacocks watched me from the trees as I went exploring over the stream and through the woods, looking out for all the weird and wonderful creations Nigel has made over the years. I will definitely be coming back, either to learn more skills or just to stay in one of the beautiful Shepherd's Huts. Either one alone is more than worth it!"

Melanie Towne reviewed: Basic to advanced knitting workshops in Leeds City Centre

"Ann kindly arrived early when we rang to say we had ordered food earlier than expected. The venue is special - we sat in the old arcade at a table belonging a vintage tea shop. Ann has a lovely relaxed style of teaching which encouraged and gave confidence to my daughter who was very happy with her own progress. She soon learnt to recognise and often correct her own mistakes which is a very important and positive step as it enables the pupil to continue to develop skills when practicing alone. I am looking forward to some crocheted presents. Many thanks, Melanie"

David Owen reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"I have been turning for just over a year, self-taught and was given a day course with Mark as a birthday gift. It was an excellent day. Mark showed me how to sharpen my tools properly and how to use them, and, importantly, how not to use them! All information was also given as a printed handout which is really useful as there is so much to take in. I feel I learned a great deal and would recommend the day to anyone, whatever level their turning as Mark will tailor the day to what you want from it."

"I recently spent a day with Phil, and although I had dabbled with the basics before, I learned so many more techniques with the various tools and hot air method. Phil made the day entertaining with his good humour, copious amounts of coffee and his knowledg of the medium. I managed to produce a few creditable images, and really enjoyed my day.....it just didn't seem long enough. Thanks Phil.....I'll be back!"

Geoff potter reviewed: Woodturning courses ( beginners and intermediates) in Hampshire, Wiltshire & Dorset

"I have been wood turning for about a year but never had a lesson from a professional teacher, what an eye opener. I learned so much in such a short time by a very friendly talented woodturner. Apart from all of the useful tips the greatest thing I learned from Andy was finesse. At the ripe old age of eighty one i'm hooked. If any one out there is thing of having a go at woodturning do it and start with Andy Browne. Thanks Andy geoff potter"

Sue Taylor reviewed: Learn To Crochet On The Norfolk/Cambs Border

"I spent a lovely afternoon with my mum and a friend, learning to Crochet with Sue and Deb. Their Craft barn is a wonderful space to relax and learn, with views over the Alpacas paddock and the beautiful Norfolk countryside. Sue and Deb were very easy to learn from and their enthusiasm for Crochet was evident. The basic stitches were shown to us as a group and we then had individual tutorage as we each came to use the different stitches. The tea and biscuits were plentiful and most welcome! Half way through the session, we took a break and went out to meet the Alpacas. Sue and Deb introduced us to each of them and told us about their 'fiber' as well as their individual characteristics! I came away from my session at Primrose Alpacas and Craft School having thoroughly enjoyed learning a new skill and having had a wonderful stress-free afternoon."

Lucy reviewed: One day bangle/ring workshop

"Such an incredible day!! I requested this for my birthday gift this year because I've always loved Jolene's jewellery and thought it would be a great experience to try making for myself. My mum and 2 friends came along too and we all had just the best day! Jolene is the perfect host; providing home-made brownies, making drinks, patiently assisting and being open to our crazy jewellery suggestions! We've all come away with some incredible items and were wonderfully surprised with our own abilities and creations. Not only is this a unique way to learn a new skill, it also is great in improving confidence and for coming away with such professional looking bangles and rings! I managed to create enough jewellery to make gifts for friends whilst also having plenty for myself - it's an incredible price for an incredible day!"

Marianne reviewed: One day bangle/ring workshop

"It was a really enjoyable day with clear instruction, a friendly atmosphere and the freedom to explore your own ideas under the guidance of a skilled silversmith! A thoroughly enjoyable experience with lots of laughter and even cake! We used both copper and silver to make different items of jewellery, learning to solder, use the saw, add little pieces of decor and ending up with some beautiful, individual pieces. I made a bangle and some rings which I will be wearing for a very long time. Truly recommend."
