These 3 or 4 week courses of 2 hour sessions (6 or 8 hours in total) are suitable for beginners to crochet and are aimed at adults (we run kids classes too... Contact us for details!). Groups are small to allow plenty of individual attention and support and the atmosphere is relaxed and fun.
During the 3 or 4 weeks we will learn different stitches, wool and needle types and how to work with them and how to build on these to make a beautiful blanket.
Participants are encouraged to think about their own projects which they can bring to class for additional support. We also provide advice and information on the best places to buy your supplies.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
You will be provided with a kit containing wool, a hook, and weekly instructions to work on during the lessons and at home. We also provide support remotely with videos.
I attended the 2 week beginners class with Emma, mostly because my mum wanted to learn - I didn't think I'd get the hang of it! Emma is a great teacher, very patient and encouraging. My mum and I both really enjoyed the class and are so pleased with our progress! We'll definitely be keeping up the crochet and trying new things. Highly recommended.
I attended an introduction to crochet class yesterday with my daughter who is 8 years old. Emma had planned a lovely activity for the girls. Her patience when showing my daughter and the other two other girls in how to hold the crochet hook and begin was fabulous. I have attended a couple of Emma’s courses now and find them relaxing and informative. If you have the time and want to learn or enhance your crochet skills Emma’s classes are brilliant for that.
Emma is lovely, extremely friendly and welcoming to all. Having experienced both adult and children's classes I can highly recommend. Emma is extremely patient teacher with both adults & kids. My kids contend with special needs and Emma had a lot of patience with them, making them feel at ease all with myself. Giving me the opportunity to share with them what I am benefiting from. ❤❤
My 10-year-old daughter and two of her friends recently attended a workshop with Emma and Phoebe. It was excellent. They came home with fun crafts they made themselves and supplies and templates to make more at home. My floor of my sitting room is now covered in colourful, errant pieces of yarn, like rainbow snow. Fantastic!
I was a bit nervous about the course as I had knitted years ago but never mastered crochet. But the group were fantastic, all beginners like me and Emma gave us all one to one support helping us to get going. I surprised myself by making a square in one night! The cafe where the classes are held was so relaxed and we were able to buy drinks and snacks. I really recommend these classes as you meet new people and make friends and Im not a beginner any more!
