"I really can not believe I made a useable 3 legged stool out of a tree trunk in one day, especially being such a townie! But I did! Eoin, Gail and Dave were brilliant teachers - just the right amount of hands on and off. There was amazing soup, good cheer, and I thought fantastic value for money. Thank you all so much, it was a wonderful experience."

""I did 2 courses with Eoin and Gail: "Rustic stool making" and "Shaving Horse". I never expected that I can make something out a piece of wood in just one weekend. Eoin and Gail are a great team and expertise was paired with lots of laughter and fun. I highly recommend these courses. Especially when you usually work in an office - a day or 2 working outside and using tools is the best therapy." Best Ursula"

"I must admit I was not filled with enthusiasm when my wife gave me a Yule Stool making course for my birthday but how wrong can you be….it was great! The feel and smell of the wood, working with original tools and using the old methods was a revelation to me and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I managed to make a passable stool which now takes pride of place in our lounge.. Everybody was very friendly and we all got along well with lots of humour on display!! The success of the day was undoubtedly down to Eoin and Gail who’s patience and enthusiasm were excellent, they watched and helped and encouraged everybody. A good hearty lunch and lots of tea / coffee and biscuits helped things along and I know that everybody had a really enjoyable time. Thank you all for a memorable day….I will be back! Regards David"

"Zaga had a professional approach in which you could tell she has a passion for fragrance. She made everything simple to understand and stepped through the stages of determining scents. Scents are very individual and she encouraged this. The application of fragrance to candles was key to this session. This was the unique selling point I wanted to understand. I am a complete novice, but Ricky explained every step in a manner that I could understand. I was 1 of a group of 2 and we helped each other to create 4 different pieces with the sure guidance of Ricky. Fascinating material !!"

"I have always had a hankering for doing some blacksmithing ever since I did a small amount at school. You can tell how long ago that was, when schools still had forges and were allowed to use them. It was a wonderful surprise when my wife bought me, after a great deal of research, a two day course with Ferric Fusion. As the date for the course approached my initial enthusiasm started to wain a little. Doubts crept in, did I have the required skills? Was I to old to be doing this? Etc. Within the first hour of the course these doubts evaporated. Aaron could not have been more welcoming and soon put us all at ease. There was no long, boring theory lesson to endure before we were allowed near a piece of steel. Rather, it was almost straight in to create our first piece. Aaron’s instruction was both clear and well structured and when it was our turn to attempt the process that appeared so easy in his hands he kept an understanding and caring eye on us at all times. We never felt out of our depth but felt totally comfortable with the work we were doing and amazed at what we had created by the end of the two days. The course at Ferric Fusion was a tremendous experience which justified all the research my wife had done. If I could afford another course with Aaron I would book one today."

"I learnt to crochet as a child but had not done any for over 40 years. I was keen to try again and my son gave me the voucher and details of the course as a birthday present. What a brilliant present! Ann soon taught me a variety of stitches and with a bit of help I soon had a growing practice piece. I then progressed to a granny square which I am really pleased with. Ann taught me how to follow a pattern so that I can try new projects at home and she provided instruction sheets and some patterns to try. Ann was a friendly patient teacher and I look forward to meeting up again next month for another session."

"Myself and a friend spent 3 fantastic days with Coralie, and Jason. They were fantastic, allowing us to come with mad ideas, and helped us turn these into creations, going beyond what we expected. Coralie is a lovely warm, friendly person, sharing ideas, and her wealth of experience with us, along with lots of coffee and cake. Would not hesitate to book another workshop with her xxx"

"This is the second workshop I've attended with Karin. I loved them both. A sheep made on the first and an Easter rabbit on the second. Karin teaches needle felting in a way that anyone can enjoy the process. It's fun and a lovely way to meet like minded crafters. I'm now hoping Karin will be able to do a two day workshop at Book ish in Crickhowell soon."

"Had a fantastic day the introduction to Rush Weaving class. The tutor Karen explained everything very clearly and was very encouraging and Brian and Julie were brilliant hosts providing amazing food throughout the day. There were just four of us and we all got on really well and I was amazed that we managed to make two items each. I will be back to try another new craft."

"What a "Great Enjoyable" day and even the sun shone for us. I really enjoyed the course and as a novice to craft this is important to me. It all started with good hospitality and welcome, plus the nice cakes and coffee. Karen explained everything in easy to understand terms and was very calm, kind & supported. I learnt a lot and even came away with two beautiful items that I can now say that "I made". The lunch was delicious and more than I expected. To have cakes in the afternoon as well was an added bonus, although I was too full to eat any. The Butterfly Studio is light, bright and a good place to learn and do craft and in a beautiful area. So I would certainly highly recommend The Butterfly Studio. So Thank You both and Karen for a Great Day."

"The day fully lived up to my expectations having experienced the stained glass event before last Christmas, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The rush weaving workshop was excellent too, and I found Karen a charming and knowledgeable teacher. I would be keen to join another of her classes again if you decide to hold more. Although I am a slow worker I was pleased with my small rush mat and 'hand broom' - maybe if I tried again I would speed up a bit. Your hospitality is superb, thank you once again for the superb lunch and numerous refreshments served in the delightful studio. Gill"

"We decided to book a course as part of our 25th wedding anniversary celebrations. We chose Mort for a few reasons - lots of good reviews / lovely part of the country / Mort seemed more flexible in having 2 people to train at once. Mort entertained us not just with his teaching abilities but also with this excellent historic knowledge of the craft. We spent the day working together on making a candlestick that actually looked close to what the design drawings we came up with in the morning. Very happy with the result. We went well over our allotted time for the day but we were not charged extra for that. Thank you Mort! Recommended!"

"I came for a one off session and became completely addicted to the pleasures of sculpting with clay. I have now been coming for over a year and find it a really enjoyable, creative and therapeutic outlet which is totally engaging for the duration of the session. Beatrice is an excellent teacher, who shares her vast knowledge and enthusiasm for sculpture and demonstrates many general sculpture techniques. She is patient and encouraging and gives you just the right amount of help and guidance whatever your age or ability. I highly recommend Beatrice's sculpture workshops and her sculptures around the house, studio and garden are inspiring."

"The Portrait sculpture weekend course with Karin Ort was wonderful!! Very warm and welcoming, in the beautiful Phoenix Studio setting. Karin, our tutor was really helpful and attentive, but also left us alone when we wanted to get on and try things out for ourselves, and happy to review and offer guidance afterwards. The life model was really professional and worked hard both days. Having your finished piece fired as part of the course was also a brilliant finish to a wonderful weekend. I look forward to doing the next one again with Karin."
