Wet Felting for intermediate techniques: series of six live online workshops plus two bonus sessions and access to video replays

Intermediate wet felt techniques - samples of bowls, double-walled vessels, fibre art, and book resists for 3D objects

Learn intermediate wet-felting techniques which will take your beginner level wet felting experience to having the knowledge, confidence and support for you to start creating 2D and 3D wet felt fibre art - all from the comfort of your own home with an informal, online group zoom class.

The techniques demonstrated in this series of live online workshops are aimed at those who have a basic knowledge of wet felting - you do not need to be an experienced wet-felter! please click 'Chat with the Maker' prior to purchase if you are unsure if you are enough wet-felting experience to fully benefit from these workshops (although you will also have access to the videos to refer back to).

Wet felt-making is an amazingly versatile and rewarding craft and, with the intermediate level techniques building on your foundation knowledge of wet-felting, can provide you with a wonderful way to express your creative side.

This online workshop course is for six consecutive weeks and each session lasts approximately 2 hours each. Each workshop is available to purchase as an individual session - please click 'Chat with the Maker' so I can let you know where to find the individual sessions to book.

This is a 'watch along' series of workshops during you will be able to watch me as I explain the processes and then demonstrate the wide variety of techniques which are covered in this series.

*This Workshop series does not include any materials - you will be able to use your own supplies & equipment after the Workshops to start using the techniques demonstrated to include in your own fibre art wet-felt creations.*

You will also the opportunity to ask as many questions as you need to, either in the Q&A sections or by typing your questions into the chat.

You will be invited to join my attendees-only facebook group after the first Workshop where I am regularly available to answer questions that you may have when you start to use these techniques to make your wet felt fibre art, objects and pictures.

Having enjoyed a day acquiring the basic skills of wet felting with Sally I couldn't wait to return and tackle Nuno felting. I expected basic tuition but the day was structured specifically for my personal ambitions and dilemmas. I came away with an understanding of the basic techniques of nuno, but so, so much more. I learnt how to create raised forms which I can incorporate into my usual practice as a textile artist and a whole raft of problems I have encountered were solved. The day was exciting with achieving a good understanding of the basics but having my eyes opened to a new range of possibilities for future work as well, both with felting and my normal textile art. It was an exhausting but exciting day, tailored to my specific needs and I came away bursting with new ideas and skills, and the confidence to continue on my own. And if I hit problems I know I have Sally's support to guide me through. A wonderful day!

Response from Craft Workshops:

Thank you Rosemary - I am very excited to see more of your fibre art and very pleased to have been able to help with some issues, guidance and techniques.
I look forward to seeing you (and your art) again very soon - can't wait to see how you develop it from here on.

Attended the wet felting workshop last week and I wasn’t disappointed. It isn’t the first course of Sally’s that I’ve attended and as previously it was so well organised. The joining instructions include everything you could possibly want to know beforehand and the course was specific to my needs. I came away with a piece of felting that I can further embellish with embroidery etc. I loved it and it was fun!
Thank you.
See you again xx

Response from Craft Workshops:

Thank you Sally - it was lovely to see you again and your wet felted picture is great. Looking forward to seeing it in due course when it is fully finished.

I had a wonderful day with Sally and had arrived as a complete novice. Sally was super organised and all work stations were socially distanced, well stocked and ready to go - the day was structured and learnt a load more than expected and found I really enjoyed the process of making a wet felt picture - great day thanks again!!

Response from Craft Workshops:

Thanks Jen - it was a lovely day, and I hope to see you again soon.

This course was exciting with instant and stunning results. I still can't believe I made three good things in one day! Being told what to do step by step was so reassuring and Sally could spot errors we were unaware of and point us in the correct direction before we ruined our work, that sort of experience would have taken me years to gain, if I had the time to do it! Hugely valuable.

Earlier this year I attended one of Sally’s needle felting courses and loved it! Last Saturday a friend and I did the wet felting course and loved it equally as much!
Sally is a wonderful teacher, very patient and encouraging, with a really good sense of humour! We all went home with a picture, a small pot and a bowl ( mine not really a bowl but a nice piece of felt!!) I would definitely recommend Sally’s courses and will be booking more in the future.
Thank you Sally.

I attended this course on 13th July 2019 as a follow on to a previous needle felting day with Sally to refresh the process of both needle and wet felting.
It is the third course I have done with Sally and I cannot recommend them enough. It is a very relaxed small group session which means that Sally is able to offer everyone individual tuition as needed.
She provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere along with a good sense of humour. Whether you are a beginner or more experienced there is alway something to learn from Sally’s expertise and she is happy to share all her knowledge openly and encourages you to continue with your chosen craft.
Each day offers a variety of projects so everyone can have a choice and work at their own speed which is brilliant rather than all doing the same thing.
I recommend Sally’s courses and will be booking more in the future and attending her Sunday follow up craft sessions.

This course is fantastic in all respects. Sally provided all materials necessary (and more) for you to be able to produce a really substantial piece of art. She is a talented tutor who guided me expertly through each stage, and insisted on supplying me with tea and coffee all day and wouldn’t even let me clear up. The premises were ideal and we had a lovely self contained room for us to work.
All in all, an fabulous day, excellent value and I came away with a new skill I am thrilled about.
Will be booking on another course soon!
Thank you Sally x

A thoroughly satisfying and informative workshop. Thank you Sally for a great session wet felting. I had no idea how to do it before but Sally was patient, encouraging and a great teacher. The day went very swiftly and after as much tea or coffee as we wanted, plus all the materials we needed, we all were very successful with our final pieces. I loved the day and would definitely do another.

Response from Craft Workshops:

Thank you for coming to the wet felting workshop Prue - really enjoyed having you in the group. The pieces which you went home with were lovely! Look forward to seeing you again soon.

Eliana - - #15543

Attended this class yesterday and completely loved it. Sally made the class completely accessible to beginners and encouraged our own creativity whilst guiding us with the technical side of things.

With the chance to try a sample piece first we could try out some different ideas without committing to a final piece, which was a great aspect.

Really pleased with how my final picture came out and this is definitely down to the excellent guidance and advice along the way from Sally.

Would definitely return for another class! Thank you so much xx

Response from Craft Workshops:

Thank you for attending the Wet Felting course Eliana - it was great to meet you and I am very pleased you enjoyed the course. Your wet felted pieces were fantastic! Look forward to seeing you again soon.
