We were sort of back on track and I was teaching one to one or small groups of friends - sorry I cannot at this stage agree to teach anyone face to face but I hope that by spring the strings will be loosened somewhat. Meanwhile, see below for Workshop in a Wallet listings - or book now and we'll sort out a date as soon as we are allowed to.
Fun with felt flowers gives beginners all the basic information to learn felting around a resist. In the three and a half hours, students will make two different flowers, using different techniques, along with different centres. Workshops start at 10am. At the moment I can only teach up to five students at a time and they must be one group (ie chums!) I can also travel within 20 miles if someone wants a group of friends (minimum 5 participants) in their own house or school. Fabulous idea for a hen party! Please note, though, I do charge mileage.
While we are waiting to get back to nearer 'normality', please check out my other listings for Workshops in a Wallet. These include Fun with Felt Flowers at Home and Gone to Seed at Home, covering much of what you would learn with me here in West Horsley, as well as newer workshops - Loving Lavender and Creepies and Crawlies.
While I won't be able to answer queries as they arise, I will be happy to answer emailed questions if you have any as you progress through the workshop instructions or you can telephone me between 9.30am and 4pm. These first two Wallet also include a voucher towards doing the workshop with me at a later date. Please click on 'See more from this course organizer' button below.
Please note I cannot teach children without a responsible adult accompanying them and both must be booked on the course.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
All materials are included and brooch pins/necklace ribbons for the finished flowers. Additional small packs of felt will be available at a nominal cost
Tea and coffee are included.
There is a reliable taxi service from Horsley station for about a fiver or I can collect just 3 people!

What a wonderful day felting, Nancy was an excellent tutor with incredible patience for the complete beginner. Her instructions were clear and you never felt out of your depth. She made it fun and enjoyable and the time passed all too quickly. Tea and coffee were provided as well as biscuits, she created the atmosphere of crafting with a friend, I cannot recommend this workshop highly enough. I will definitely be booking one of her others.
Response from flights-of-fantasy:Thank you - to everyone who has responded, as I have only just discovered I can reply.
OMG can’t recommend this course enough. A fantastic day of felting with a teacher who could communicate well and had the patience of a saint. Nancy was very welcoming, friendly and made you feel at home straight away.
Tea and coffee was provided with a yummy biscuit and easy parking. The course was so much fun it was over to soon. And to End the day the local pub for lunch couldn’t have been better. Food was delicious and reasonable priced. We are definitely going to book another course later in the year.
Response from flights-of-fantasy:Thoroughly enjoyed today's workshop! You two were a breath of fresh air after a barren year! Look forward to seeing you again for basket-making, perhaps!
A very enjoyable and informative introduction to felting. I really enjoyed the time is spent with Nancy, not only because I learnt a new skill but she is a brilliant teacher. I took this class to then teach my students in secondary school and Nancy was great a giving me insights to teaching this to others. She clearly has experience of sharing her knowledge of felting to a variety of age groups and abilities.
I will be doing more felting in the future and if I've any more questions I know Nancy will be the lady to ask.
Response from flights-of-fantasy:I'm looking forward to seeing what your students produce!
I had an absolutely great time on this course. Nancy is an excellent teacher and explained all the techniques in a clear and simple way. I was delighted with the 2 flowers that I made and I am looking forward to trying to make more on my own.
Great teacher and course. Perfectly paced with clear instructions, which was what I needed as a complete beginner. I was delighted to come away with a unique creation that I had made.
Great course I leant a different way to wet felt which was great much easier I think. Nancy was a good teacher.
