Design and construct your own stunning leaded light panel. A practical workshop to develop skills and learn the traditional method of leadwork. Over the 3 days you will have the opportunity to make an original leaded panel with a surface area of approximately 1 square foot. A choice of templates are provided with the option to design your own if you prefer. Lilian will take time during the course to advise you on designing specifically for stained glass so please do not plan too much in advance. At least a little experience of cutting glass is recommended for this course. Tutor: Lilian Shaw Lilian trained originally as a painter working in oils and pastels. Her love of light and colour led her to pursue a career as a stained glass artist. She founded her own studio in 1986. She has many varied commissions to her name both in the UK and abroad. These include pieces for private clients, churches and the National Trust. Lilian is an experienced and conscientious tutor with a genuine passion for her craft. Health & Safety This workshop involves the handling and soldering of metals (specifically lead, tin and copper). It also requires the use of sharp materials, hot tools and chemicals. Protective goggles, gloves and dust masks will be provided. Whilst every effort is made to keep the studio environment safe and well ventilated, if you are pregnant or suffer from asthma or dermatitis, for your own assurance, we recommend you seek medical advice before booking this course. • Purpose built studio in beautiful Peak District setting • Relaxed, creative atmosphere • 4 - 6 students per workshop • Open to both beginners and those with experience • Good fresh food, homemade cakes • Accommodation on site and nearby if required • Private groups welcome (minimum 4 people) Start time: Join us from 9.30am for tea/coffee and introductions. What's included in the price?

Fee includes professional tuition, lunches and refreshments - an additional materials fee applies. On average, a panel made on this 3-day workshop comes out at around £30 – £50 (including the £10 cover charge). Materials can be selected and purchased from stock. An excellent range of coloured glass will be available and lead of different widths. The price varies depending upon your chosen project (panel size, colours, glass types etc). In addition, there is cover charge of £8 per person for basic materials such as solder, tallow, cement, whiting and use of tools. A tasty light lunch is included in the course fee. Please let us know of any special dietary requirements. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available all day to help yourself and there will be home-made cake mid afternoon.
