Staffordshire potter Caroline, of EarthFireCeramics, will expertly guide you through some of the various techniques to get you started on your ceramic journey. From pinch pots, coiling and slab work to clay decoration using slips and glazes, you will work at a steady and relaxed pace to create some wonderful objects to be proud of.
Studio sessions are bookable on a 4 week block basis and includes 4 x 2 hour sessions, a ball of clay and wider materials. At the end of each session your finished piece will be fired and ready to glaze the following week.

What a wonderful way to spend a couple of hours a week being creative and meeting some lovely people.
Caroline is there to help at any time and lets your creativity come to the forefront and everyone produces such amazing work. Inspirational!
I really look forward to these classes.
Absolutely brilliant course - Caroline is brilliant and allows everyone to have complete freedom to be creative and make whatever they like. Caroline offers guidance, ideas and support for any projects you decide to take on! It’s a really friendly and welcoming atmosphere, a great way to unwind and de-stress! I would recommend to anyone.
My sister and I were looking for a ceramics course that was relaxed and friendly and that is exactly what we have found. Caroline has created a lovely environment for a creative and relaxing two hours and she is there to offer help and encouragement when needed. We have met lots of lovely people and look forward to our class each week. Excellent value too.
Relaxed, enjoyable and fun. Warm welcoming atmosphere. Caroline helps and encourages everyone with their individual ceramic projects, so we are all able to develop at our own pace and follow our own interests in pottery making and glazing. Her classes are great.
The highlight of my week! I am absolutely loving the pop up pottery studio. Caroline provides a relaxed environment and personalised guidance to allow you to develop your skills and style. We all support and encourage each other and maybe 'borrow' a few ideas which is great. My home is now starting to fill with lots of 'one-offs'!
I so look forward to Caroline's pottery classes. You can play with clay to your hearts content in a friendly supportive atmosphere. Everyone works on their own pieces with no pressure to conform to a set programme. All supplies are provided along with hot drinks and biscuits. Caroline has a unique teaching style by gently encouraging you to find your own style. The lovely feel of manipulating cool clay is soothing for both your fingers and soul. Highly recommended
Carolines classes are excellent, not only are they creative & fun, they are very relaxed & there is no pressure or judgement on what you make. She has a lovely calming manner & always has ideas if you are struggling with what to make. I really look forward to going & seeing how all of our creations have turned out - every class is a surprise!
Initially my main reason for joining pottery was to get myself out of the house as I'd been struggling with depression and anxiety. The thought of walking into a room full of strangers terrified me but i had no need to worry. Caroline was so warm and friendly i felt so at ease around her.
The other members are friendly and supportive. There is no pressure to join in conversations. Caroline plays classical music and i often sit quietly and work listening to the music and the general chit chat from the others.
At times i have struggled with inspiration but Caroline is always on hand to offer suggestions or will point you to a folder of potential ideas. I wouldn't say my work is fantastic, but i believe it is improving (slowly but surely).
I love the pottery classes they have played a huge part in my recovery and i hope to continue them.
Caroline's classes are a lovely way to relax on a Friday afternoon. Great value for money as everything you need is included ( including coffee and biscuits!). I don't consider myself very good, but I love the challenge - being creative with clay is very absorbing! The people are really friendly - I didn't know anyone when I started but everyone helps each other and treats you like a friend. Caroline brings out the creative streak in us all too. A fab class!
These classes are brilliant. Everyone is so friendly and Caroline is generous both with her own time and the materials she provides. I look forward to my Tuesday evenings and making my latest creation. Highly recommended
Caroline is such a big inspiration and help in her classes. Anything you think of doing she will help and give you ideas of how to go about it. I really enjoy her classes, they are really relaxing, chatty and so inspirational.
Caroline in a great teacher, happy to share her knowledge and ideas. She also encourages you to experiment and find your own style. Not only are the classes creative, therapeutic but also with such a great bunch of people very social. I would definitely recommend... But be warned pottery is very addictive
I thought I would give pottery a go despite not being very arty. Caroline makes every class fun & exciting, it's like Christmas every time we see what's come out of the kiln. It is extremely relaxing & Caroline is always there to give a helping hand just be warned it is addictive.
Caroline is fantastic! She allowed our class to work on our pieces with individual expression and I found it so relaxing and therapeutic. I can't recommend this class enough - perfect to get into ceramics and perfect to wipe away any life stresses.
