Description

Everything you need to create your own fabulous bronze finished clay hare sculpture at home! NB: there are also 'Sleeping Cat' and 'Faithful Dog' sculpture kits - press the 'More From This Maker' button at the bottom of this page to see the information. Coming from the Jo Garden Art studio where we usually have in person workshops (see the 'Hare Sculpture Workshops' and 'Two Day Sculpture Workshops' here on the Craft Courses Website), this kit has been lovingly put together by Jo. No previous clay sculpture experience is expected as Jo will show you each step in detail. The head, ears and tail can be moved into whatever pose you would like before you apply the clay. Names can be scribed on the base of your hare to make it even more personal. You will usually take about 90 minutes to sculpt the hare using the quality air-drying clay over the unique armature. Your hare is either left to air-dry over 24 - 48 hours, or popped into an oven for 90 minutes! You then use the provided paint and gilt cream to evolve your hare into a beautiful bronze finish. Also on sale is a cost saving 'party' pack for 4 people (£89 - press 'see more by this course organiser' button). So your family or friends can enjoy creating hares together in the morning - perhaps having lunch whilst they are 'cooking' in the oven' - then finishing the hares in the afternoon. Fabulous fun and enjoyed by any age group (please note young children must be supervised). Jo guarantees no two hares will be the same! What you will need

If you would like extra big ears - then have some kitchen foil handy. All is explained in the instructions ;-) otherwise everything is included in the kit. But the scene can be set: favourite music on, cup of tea/coffee/hot chocolate (glass of wine). Time to relax. ?

Welcome 😃 I'm Jo Garden. I call myself a 'facilitator' as my joy is enabling people of any skill to achieve something they did not expect, plus have time away from the everyday stresses of normal life. My sculpture & slate mosaic workshops are broken down into small stages which result in amazing sculptures and works of art regardless of your artistic ability (honestly). If you purchase a kit, there is a full length video of me making the sculpture which you can watch as many times as you wish. If attending a workshop, my peaceful studio is tucked into the garden surrounded by trees and wildlife making it a very tranquil and stress busting. I run several workshops a month but am often booked up for months in advance. If you book a long way in the future, I do make contact if I have cancellations and can move you forward. "Wow, such a wonderful little project to complete. The kit was perfectly labelled with a great YouTube video to follow at your leisure. I did my hare over the course of a couple of weeks. A sitting for each stage. Jo's explanation of the process was easy to follow and felt like you were in the room with her. As for 'Mr Hare' well he is just fantastic! I might wait for the weather to warm up before I put him outside, or knit him a jumper. He looks very majestic on my mantlepiece for the time being. I purchased as a gift for myself. I will be adding to my collection for sure. I might even sign up for an in house course and make a weekend of it some day soon. "

The whole process was throughly enjoyable and I learned a lot. I thought the bronze gilt effect at the end was a great touch and really made the piece. The video is so easy to follow and everything supplied for you! Down to the sponges and paint brushes.
