Description
Come and enjoy creating in clay and other mediums including print and have the option to progress to an Arts Award, a national qualification in the arts, offered to young people from age 6 to 25 at various levels. Young people entering the Arts award scheme are able to steer their projects reflecting their own interests under the guidance of Geraldine who is a qualified Arts Award adviser. The qualification is not time bound and candidates are entered for moderation when their portfolio has first been marked by the adviser. A portion of the work is expected to be completed as independent learning. More information can be found on the Arts Award website. Bronze and Silver Arts Award have the same value as a GSCE and Gold is equivalent to A level in value.

Maker
Geraldine Francis is a ceramacist whoruns tutored classes in Market Lavington near Devizes in Wiltshire. She has many years of experience in teaching ceramics and works from the studio as well as in the community, bringing the opportunity to work in clay to many people. From those in care homes to children's nurseries Geraldine delivers ceramics and pottery sessions to suit all ages and abilities. She offers tuition in all aspects of working in clay including sculpture and throwing on the wheel. Geraldine is from a fine art ceramics background and her own work is on display in the studio and includes thrown work as well as sculpture and tiles.
