Half-day body-positive pottery workshop in Brighton
Description
Hot Fox Pottery’s ‘body bits’ workshops are all about celebrating and affirming the human body in all its diversity and beauty - as well as having lots of fun playing with clay. My ceramics and workshops explore this idea in a fun and beautiful way. and are designed to be stunning pieces of art that you can use every day. At this half-day workshop you will have the chance to make your own piece of body-positive pottery. You can make a hand-built mug and choose the body part (naughty or nice!) you would like to sculpt onto it. As we only have three hours for this workshop, I will pre-prepare the clay slabs you need to build your mug, and you will choose a dipping glaze which I will apply later. If you want to make the mug from scratch, decorate it and have a lovely lunch, then please choose the full day course! Sculpting a risqué body part is encouraged but not enforced, so if you want to adorn your mug with a nose, ear or other body part that's fine too! The workshops are held in my loft studio in Brighton from 10am - 1pm or 2 - 5pm. The cost for the full day workshop, including all materials, firing, a light lunch and refreshments is £65 per person. Free on-street parking is available at weekends. No pottery experience is necessary, just bring an open mind and a sense of humour! Please contact me to find out what dates I have available, I will try to be as flexible as I can, but usually run workshops on Saturdays or Sundays. *Please note that the courses will only run if there are at least two people booked on. If there are not sufficient bookings two weeks before the course date, I will need to contact you to reschedule.

Maker
In my own work, I use clay to celebrate the beautiful and diverse human body, by sculpting body parts onto beautiful and functional pieces of ceramics. I run occasional one-day workshops where you can make your own piece of body positive pottery. I also run regular pottery classes from my studio in Brighton, which are suitable for anyone and students are free to choose what they make. My classes are small (maximum 7 students), so lots of 1-2-1 attention (and tea!) is provided.
