Description

This is an Introduction to Stitchbooking workshop that aims to give you all of the tools and advice you need to make your own Stitchbook – a textile memory book featuring your photos printed onto fabric.

During the workshop I will guide you through the main skills needed to produce your Stitchbook including printing your photos onto fabric, adding text to tell your own story and constructing the pages.

You will have time during the day to try out all of the techniques and make a start on the pages for your own book. Hopefully by the end of the day you will have the confidence and understanding of how to complete the rest of your Stitchbook.

You need to have a basic level of sewing knowledge -not necessarily on a sewing machine. The books can be completed by hand or machine.

After purchase, I will email you with a list of suggested supplies to bring along, and instructions on simple preparations you can make, such as thinking of a theme for your book and collecting photographs.

It will be held at my Hotwalls studio (a historic seafront fortification) which is a lovely place to spend the day. There will be a break for lunch and you can bring your own or visit the fantastic onsite Canteen. I will also be providing tea and coffee throughout the day.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

The course fee includes a Stitchbook Starter Kit  (usually £30) which contains the construction materials for a 11.5 x 15cm Stitchbook with 8 pages. These include the background pages, the binding rings and a selection of stampers so you can add your own story. It will also include any other materials you need to use on the day.
