Learn the most essential sewing techniques to take your skills to the next level. This hands-on workshop will give you the confidence to take on a range of sewing projects with a professional touch. By the end of the session, you’ll have practiced the techniques on fabric samples and gained skills you can apply to your sewing projects at home. This sewing machine course covers: Zips Hems Double-fold hem Blind hem Rolled hem Buttonholes and Buttons Seam Finishes French seams Overlock (using an overlocker OR overlocking alternatives) Bound seams for a professional inside finish Only 20 mins from Tunbridge Wells, East Grinstead, Edenbridge, Uckfield and Crowborough, our Studio is in a beautiful converted Oast with exposed beams and gentle views across the farmland. Filled with mouth-watering aromas from The Oast Bakery, where Alison prepares our delicious refreshments, this is the perfect place to escape the pressures of daily life and enjoy some creative time for yourself. Our aim is to offer the chance to unwind, learn a new skill and meet like minded people whilst enjoying a cuppa and a slice of cake. If you’re unable to attend for any reason, please note that we are unable to offer refunds for our courses. However, you are welcome to transfer your booking to a friend or family member — just let us know who will be attending in your place. Alternatively, once the course is fully booked, we can attempt to resell your spot through our database and social media. If we are successful, we can either issue a refund (minus a 10% administration fee) or offer you a place on an alternative course, subject to availability. "I loved this course. The Oast Studio was started in 2021, as the COVID restrictions came to an end and we realised there was a need and a demand for people to come and spend time crafting together. We paired together our love of food and sewing and The Oast Studio was created! We now offer over 80 different craft and sewing classes from Needle Felting & Basket Weaving to Sewing & Painting. With freshly baked treats at every class plus home cooked lunches at all our full day courses.
