We provide or bring if you have them: sewing machines, scissors, pins, chalk and tape measures. Students also have access to our overlockers.
Pattern paper, some fabrics, pins, rulers and magnetic pin cushions are available to buy in class.

Complementary tea, herb tea, coffee and cordial available

If you are making clothes bring your pattern, fabric and notions (zips, buttons etc).
For making other items bring whatever you need to complete your project. We have a project ideas page with a list of what to bring for making each item, or email us to ask advice

Fabric prep - wash your fabric first and iron it on the wrong side. Hand wash pieces of cord or denim and dry naturally as fabric can crease permanently.

Want to review this course?

I signed myself up for the Beginners course as I've always wanted to get back in to sewing and making my own clothes. The teachers were great, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is really calming and relaxing and the venue had everything I need to start me off. Will definitely be going back for more sessions! :)

I loved the classes - teacher Laura was very positive, patient and lighthearted. The venue is nice and bright - well organised and felt homely. I was really pleased with the bag I made and have already used the downloadable instructions to make another one at home! Although you don't need a machine in the classes, I used their ones.
I really recommend these classes - excellent school. Looking forward to coming to the making Clothes from Patterns course next!
