Introduction to ceramics, 6 week evening class



Learn new skills, unleash your creativity!

The course will lead you step by step through some of the many and varied ways of working with clay.

You will also explore a range of different surface decoration techniques and glazing.

Projects include tiles, small dishes, a ceramic mirror or clock, a Roman oil lamp, ceramic jewellery and a taster session of throwing on the wheel. Suitable for complete beginners or those with some experience.

Limited to 4 people, in Hackney-based studio; a friendly, creative,relaxed atmosphere.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

All tools provided, clay, glaze and firings included in the course fee as well as tea and a small snack, like a roll.

My studio can be very cold in winter so please wear warm clothes. Clay can be messy so bear this in mind although I do provide plastic aprons.

Your finished work will be fired and ready for collection about a month after the end of the course.

Cancellation policy
The course may be cancelled if not enough people book. Full refund of workshop fees will be given. If participants cancel with 28 days notice they will get 90% refund, 1-3 weeks notice 80% refund with the exception of a course being booked with a voucher in which case it will be 70%.

I really can recommand to do the ceramics course with Su. She is a very lovely person who created a place where you feel good and get ideas, many techniques and also tea and snacks in between.
Both, doing your own thing and discussing your ideas with others is appreciated. When you feel stuck in your creative process Su helps you to find out what you wanna do next in a very kind way.
I def wanna learn more as the outcome is really beautiful and astonishing.
It's a good place to take a break from allday life and do something good for yourself and to learn something really interesting and fun.

Well structured and highly informative course in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere. I learned a lot of news techniques even though I had attended pottery sessions before.

The best thing is coming home with many beautiful items at the end!
