Description

If you want to make an extra special personal gift or learn a new skill, lampworking is a great place to start. Lampworking is a very creative activity, using a blowtorch and coloured glass rods. Within the two-hour lessons, the student will produce their own collection of beads using coloured glass rods and specialist lampworking equipment. What is Lampworking? Lampworking is a type of glasswork where a torch is primarily used to melt the glass. The glass is heated until molten, wound around a specially coated steel mandrel, forming the base bead. Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by shaping with tools and hand movements. Lampworking is a very calming and enjoyable way of creating your own unique beads.
