Lampwork Beadmaking Half day Taster Class For One
Description
This is a 3 to 4 hour taster course to give you a sample of bead making, ideal if you are unsure if lampwork is for you. This is a one to one course, you will not be part of a group. If you would like to bring a friend see our other listings for 2 person classes with a discount. All aspects of bead making for beginners will be covered, tools & equipment, health & safety, types of glass etc followed by demonstration of basic tasks such as pulling stringers and making a basic bead. At the end of the course you will have made a basic bead and have an idea of what you need to start making your own beads. All beads made on the day will be posted to you after they have been annealed in our kiln. The course can run either morning or afternoon to suit your needs and refreshments will be provided. Ruth and Andy Harrison are full time, self-taught lampwork glass artists with over 15 years of experience based in Burton-On-Trent. We discovered lampworking almost by accident and it was a hobby for a little while before quickly becoming a full time job, and obsession.

Yes, on a full day class lunch is provided. On a 1/2 day taster class drinks and snacks are available.
Yes, the price of the course includes all tools, materials etc. You get to keep everything you and we make during the class.
We will be working with glass that is either hot, sharp, molten or sometimes all 3! If dropped it can scorch or burn your clothes, please
don’t wear your Sunday best!
No open toed shoes, sandals etc.
Try to arrive 10-15 mins before the start time, please avoid arriving too early as we may not have arrived ourselves to let you in.
A taster class starts at either 10:30 or 1:30, you get to choose and runs for about 3.5 hours.
A day class starts at 10:00 and finishes between 5 and 5:30.
We are flexible on times so feel free to request a different time.
We have one space allocated in our on site car park, please park in space #7. Please avoid parking on the street, it is limited to 2 hours and often used by people walking into town so the traffic wardens check frequently.
