About the Course
This is a course that needs no previous experience in textiles and is designed to be an enjoyable, sociable learning experience culminating in your own seascape design.
We start the day with an innovative wet feltmaking technique to produce our very realistic looking felt pebbles. Then we move on to the upcycling techniques that transform yarns and fabrics into the background colours of our seascape.
Both of these techniques ultimately combine to produce a very textured piece of work that can be used as a visual piece of work or practically for cushions, bags etc
Dianne Standen is an innovative textile designer with 25 years experience as a full time textile worker. She is responsible for the only permanent UK outdoor collection of textile sculptures at Rydal Hall Sculpture path.
No experience required. The class is held in small groups to ensure plenty of individual attention.
