Ceramic Workshops for all in Accrington - Weekly sessions

About the Course
The sessions are tailored to every individual's needs. With beginners, I usually start with a few set projects to teach the various techniques. You will learn slabbing, coiling and pinching and make items such as a poppy, hanging ornaments, an owl, a tea-light holder, a snowman, a vase etc.
Later on, you will have the opportunity to develop your own project using the techniques learned in a relaxed informal atmosphere. You can pick ideas from my books and magazines or me or other learners. I take a maximum of 4 at a time so everyone can get the help they need.
I am flexible with the number of sessions you attend.
£16.00 is for 'pay as you go', but I also offer discounted block bookings. For instance the next block is 6-week long, and it is £86.40 paid up front (= £14.40/session).
There are opportunities to catch up as there's a 'catch up' week at the end of each block.
You may start at any time within a block.
Advanced potters also welcome to work on your own projects (discount).

I loved the way the session was taught, and very welcoming atmosphere. I loved working with the wide range of materials. It was easy even for a beginner to do the class. I would recommend!

Excellent and well prepared class. Went to the "rooster workshop" and everything we could possibly need had been laid out for us - clay, tools and even templates to make it easier to shape a sculpture. Marion is extremely patient and really good at explaining and demonstrating procedures. I am a complete beginner and not a particularly 'crafty' person, and hadn't expected to be so pleased with the finished sculpture. There are lots of lovely pottery items made by Marion to look at for inspiration too. Hoping to find the time for more classes!

Such a wonderful experience from start to finish! Was made to feel so comfortable, enjoy something new, meet the amazing Marion, and watch your creations come to life!
Would highly recommend for those totally new to pottery and glaze, or even those more experienced;
You will not be left disappointed.
