About the Course

The Crafty Potter regularly runs 1:1 and group sculpting sessions. The sessions either run from our friendly craft studio at Heskin or our home studio.

You are taught by Sharon who is an experienced sculptor & ceramic tutor for clayshare.

Join us in making an item of your choice, with step by step tuition. The session lasts around 3 hours, you will learn how to shape, mould and sculpt clay by hand.

Choose from our Foxes, Hares, Highland cows, Fairy houses & Donkeys to name a few. We have lots of examples in the studio.

Once you've created your master piece it stays with us for firing & glazing. Collection is 2-3 weeks later. Alternately you can return to the studio and glaze the item yourself for a small fee. You are also welcome to take the item home to air dry, should you wish.

Full step by step tuition is given so the course is suitable for beginners. More advanced potters are also welcome. Simply ring and book a time & date (available everyday except Mondays).

If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.

What's included in the price?

All materials & tools needed
Finished Sculpture (collected 3-4 weeks after class)
Hot drink & biscuits

Came on the sculpting day course with a friend for her birthday. We both made a very cute hare!! Sharon was lovely. She guided us through each stage and made her instructions very easy for us to follow. Neither of us had done this sort of thing before but we loved it and can’t wait to go back and make something else. We both loved our little hares. Thanks Sharon. We’ll be back!!
