Bring the whole family down to the Red House Glass Cone for some family time together to make this collaborative keepsake, which doubles up as a practical fruit bowl. In this workshop, which starts at 10.30a.m. you'll be working with earthenware clay and you'll taught how to use a slab roller and rubber/wooden stamps to decorate your individual handprints. Saz's Ceramics & Crafts is an established pottery painting and ceramics studio set in the heart of the Black Country within the site of the historic visitor attraction. Once you've finished making your bowl, feel free to explore the site, which is free to enter and visit the many other craft studios based at the Cone.
What's included in the price?
All use of pottery tools and equipment, aprons, clay and firing costs are included in the price. Refreshments will be provided during the workshop, and there's the Red Cone Coffee House just next door if you'd like to order a delicious lunch or treat yourselves to a slice of cake or award winning ice cream after all your 'hard' work making your fruit bowl! If you'd prefer to bring a packed lunch, it's lovely to sit at our picnic tables by the canal and watch the world go by. Your fired bowl will be ready for collection in a couple of weeks' time, when you can glaze it for an additional £10, get Sarah to glaze it for you or take it home as it is!
