Bruce & Lisa Jarv est reviewed: Basket making for beginners using traditional willow basketry techniques

"We have been on a number of workshops over the years covering a range of crafts, but I have to say Jonny's enthusiasm, skill and kind humour made it a very special day. At no point did we feel rushed so had a most enjoyable experience. Lunch as others have commented was perfect and the whole day was really good from arrival until we departed with our lovely sturdy baskets. We can unreservedly recommend."

Basket Making Malvern responded:

"Thank you Bruce, it's great to hear what you thought of the day and I'm so glad you liked it. See you both again for another basket one day hopefully? Best wishes Jonny"

Lisa reviewed: Private or private group silver jewellery making / silversmithing workshop half-day at Silver Designed Personally

"Sara was lovely!! I booked an afternoon session to create a personal, handmade item to give as my family Secret Santa present. I am so pleased that I took the chance and booked a session - I have no creativity (!) and no previous experience but now I have a gorgeous pair of earrings and I completely loved my afternoon. Initially, Sara made me tea and we talked about possible designs of the earrings. Sara guided me through the process and we came up with a totally original design! I loved using all the tools and learning about the different silver techniques- the time flew by and Sara’s gorgeous little dog sat happily watching us throughout. I loved my afternoon and will definitely be back. Thank you so much Sara."

Silver Designed Personally responded:

"Lisa, wow that you so much for your amazing review, I absolutely loved working with you, it really was fun and you made such a great set of earrings (I am sure she will love them - let me know!) ... here's hoping to see you again to make something else and learn some more skills. Thanks Sara"

Kathryn Gale reviewed: Private or private group silver jewellery making / silversmithing workshop day at Silver Designed Personally

"Brilliant one day course. I chose to make a leaf shaped pendant, probably threw Sara by choosing an unusual leaf but she didn’t baulk at all. She was so patient and explained everything so well. Nothing was too much trouble and I’ve gone home with a necklace to be proud of. Thanks very much Sara"

Silver Designed Personally responded:

"Thanks so much for your wonderful review Kathryn, you made a lovely pendant and were a pleasure to work with.... and I leant a new plant too!! Beautiful shape. Thanks Sara"

jock wilson reviewed: Firebird Forge Blacksmithing School

"Great day. Warm welcome and tea, quick, simple but thorough health and safety briefing , then sort out what and how. Really enjoyable day, learnt a lot, especially how skilled and experienced Mort is. Good teacher who does a great job. Highly recommend to anyone. Note , the forge is not warm if the weather is cold. Plenty of layers as you soon warm up when getting busy. Thanks for a cracking day Mort, all the best, Jock Wilson."

Julie Seary reviewed: Print and play evening workshops in Bristol

"A really enjoyable relaxed course. Sophie gives excellent and encouraging guidance to help participants quickly produce lovely artwork. I have used the skills I learnt to produce birthday and Christmas cards and friends and family seem to appreciate receiving something unique. Fantastic artistic skills are not required just a willingness to enjoy and not be afraid to experiment. Oh and Sophie plays some excellent music whilst you work! Thanks Sophie"

Sophie Rae responded:

"Many Thanks Julie"

Sue Devine reviewed: Weekly Art Classes with Julie Sajous

"Julie teaches you all the basics you wish you had been taught at school and through her encouragement and persistence, people with the least experience have made rapid progress during her inspirational courses. She will gently take you out of your comfort zone to realise new horizons and discover that with a few essential guidelines, art is truly achievable for everyone and we can each work towards our own individual styles. Since going to Julie’s classes, (a highlight of my week), I have not only developed my own skills but have a new found confidence in an area I had never believed was possible. Last, but not least, I have met some really lovely like-minded people who have become good friends. I strongly recommend giving Julie a try and with perseverance and an open mind, you never know what you might achieve!."

Sarah Catlin reviewed: Spoon carving workshop with Steve Tomlin

"I loved the course. It was a relaxing day, but I picked up loads of useful information. I'm now comfortable with safe axe and knife techniques. We went from a block of wood to a useful spoon in a matter of hours. I can't wait to practise my news skills."

Ellen reviewed: Introduction to Frame Loom Weaving

"We got this course as a birthday present for my mum and we both had a wonderful and very relaxing time. Alice was very friendly and patient and I was so pleased to be able to produce a wall-hanging despite not having done anything like this before. Alice is a great teacher and built us up from first steps to learning how to make tassels. The location is brilliant - Alice has a lovely, well-equipped studio by the seafront in Old Portsmouth and there are lots of other studios and creative shops nearby. It’s also easy to find and park right by the studio. I’m now looking forward to doing some more weaving on my own and would highly recommend this course, especially as a gift. Perfect!"

Jodie Entwistle reviewed: Mosaic workshop in Norwich

"A lovely and unique course and was available in Norwich. A very hands on approach, Fehmi has taken us through several techniques, at each stage, getting us to use a range of mosaic materials and equipment. My design slowly evolved as I did not have a plan, Fehmi advised but let me explore my own creative unfolding, producing a finished piece that I really like. Thanks for the intimacy of a small group and to Fehmi, who was very patient and attentive throughout."

"Thank you to Jane and Paul who made me feel very welcome. Jane shared her skills and experience enabling me to create professional looking cup cakes which also tasted delicious! The table was well prepared with resources and equipment and we also relaxed with tea and home made mince pies. I really enjoyed my morning and would recommend Tara House Bakery to my friends. Many thanks Stacy Gilbert"

Mark Husband reviewed: 2 day knife/axe making courses

"I could not be more delighted with this course or with the knife I produced. Gary is fantastic to work with; happy to let you get on with it when you are confident in what you are doing, but always available to provide a deft touch or piece of timely advice when needed. I had a very defined idea of the knife I imagined as did the other two guys on the course. Three very different knives! All three of us were complete novices but with Gary's support we all ended up with exactly the knives we wanted. I am coming back to make a kitchen cleaver. I know what I want to make and know that I can do it at this forge. Could not be better!"

Malcolm Bruce reviewed: The complete basics of woodturning (2 days)

"This two day course I would highly recommend as Mark gives such exceptional detailed information and is calm while delivering the training. This gives you confidence in producing a perfect, in my case, cross grain fruit bowl which is already in use and I am proud of because wood turning is not as easy as people think. Not having any experience in turning wood at all after two days I certainly now have the confidence to design and produce items in the future with further practice."

Linda Lillig reviewed: Two day (consecutive) stained glass starter course at North Norfolk Stained Glass

"I would heartily recommend this course to anyone. Even if you have never attempted glass cutting before, Paul explained the process very well, was patient and gave really positive feedback. I really enjoyed learning a new skill, and am very proud of the panel I made, it has attracted many favourable comments not least from my children who are amazed I actually made it! Thank you also to Natalie for the lovely lunch provided each day, and to Grace for keeping us entertained. We look forward to going back to do the glass fusing course in the spring. Thanks to you both, I had an enjoyable couple of days."

Hazel Simons reviewed: Mosaic workshop in Norwich

"Really enjoyable course and great to be able to take home a finished product at the end. Fehmi was great at explaining things as we went along and provided a wide variety of materials for us to work with. He was also very helpful, helping me to cut pieces as I only have the use of one hand. I would have been happy to do an extra session as it was a little rushed at the end. I would definitely recommend it to others."

Hanna reviewed: Screen printing on glass

"Very well run workshop. James is a highly skilled artist but also a calm and helpful teacher. As I am already a screenprinter I particularly appreciated all the helpful tips on producing great images to translate onto the screens. James was generous with his know-how and super patient. I was truly delighted with my finished pieces."
