Howard reviewed: Wood joints class using reclaimed materials

"Really enjoyable and informative class delivered by Tyler who is a highly knowledgeable, patient craftsman who clearly enjoys teaching. The pace of the course was adapted to suit those attending and Tyler imparts his knowledge without taking over. Plenty of tools to go round and we managed to make a range of joints including, butt, mortice & tenon, mitre, dowel reinforced mitre and dovetail. Tyler is very flexible and adapts the class according to student needs. He also allows plenty of time for questions throughout the class and a dedicated Q&A about all things woodworking (hand tools, machines, wood, techniques, buying, sourcing timber etc.) Tyler is very personable and makes you feel welcome and supports especially if you're a complete novice like myself. Tips - wear warm clothes (pending installation of log burner) and bring own food as the café is expensive"

Deborah N reviewed: Lino Printing onto Fabric Cottingham

"Another Fantastic day with the fabulous Holly! I would recommend one of her courses to all. Well organised, highly skilled, friendly, helpful, explains clearly, gives excellent demos. Lots of high quality materials available to use. Some stunning results all round. Came away with 4 printed panels that I’ll make into cushions. I really felt I’d achieved something and feel confident to have a go at home. "

Carol Morris reviewed: Beginners Silver Clay Jewellery Workshop

"Fabulous day with Heather making silver clay jewellery. There was a group of 5 of us plus 4 other crafters. Heather explained everything really clearly and gave everyone enough leeway to create what we wanted but enough guidance that no one was left behind. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and we all left with some wonderful pieces of jewellery that were really personal. "

The Fox Studios responded:

"Thank you for such a lovely review Carol, I'm so glad you all enjoyed the workshop! It was an absolute pleasure to have you all in the workshop, hopefully you've raided your button boxes for some ideas 😊. I love it when everyone has their own ideas and create pieces personal to them 💕. "

Libby reviewed: Learn to Felt - An Introduction to Felt Making in Birmingham

"Thank you Emma for a wonderful day! There was nothing I could fault with the course; it was a perfect gift, which not only made memories, but provided a personal and unique product to take home. I highly recommend trying this out, but a word of caution to anyone with fibromyalgia, or similar ailments - it does require a bit of a workout and may leave you tired and achy. That being said, it was worth the pain!"

Emma Jackson (Silversoles - Felted Textiles) responded:

"Hi Libby Glad you enjoyed the day & you are pleased with the outcome, despite the workout! Hope you are recovered now - felting can be physical, awakening creativity & muscles! 😊"

Toni Sullivan reviewed: Introduction to Inkle Loom Weaving Workshop, Fisherton Mill, Salisbury

"This is the best course I've been on. Ellie was incredibly hospitable, organised and inspiring. Ellie used a rich, visual language to explain what we were doing, with bespoke literature which she had created precisely for the workshop. She's incredibly calm, and helpful and has this wonderful energy. Even when I felt unsure and needed help I didn't have any anxiety in asking for support. I'm so surprised I actually came away with a finished piece of weave - Ellie really knows what she is doing and I came away feeling as though I really understood weaving on a whole new level. Not only was the workshop amazing but the location, the food and hospitality of the venue was fantastic. I travelled from Winchester to Salisbury for the workshop. It was absolutely worth it and I can't wait to do another workshop soon"

Mrs Anna Brown reviewed: Reverse Applique and Free-motion Machine Embroidery Bridlington

"Holly is extremely well organised with good equipment and lovely materials. She is an excellent teacher and easy to understand. She is also helpful in overcoming issues. This session involved a period of time learning to use the sewing machines. This was 'down time' for me as I brought my own machine and wanted to learn the technique on this. Good results and friendly atmosphere and suitable venue. A handout would be useful and a board with the samples available rather than being passed round. A list of details of pens etc would be useful with references. It was an enjoyable session which I would recommend to others."

Thread and Press responded:

"Thanks Anna, glad you enjoyed it. The reading list was a great idea, I have started putting one together. I have just emailed you with a document with a summary and the resources used. Hope to see you again soon :)"

Kingcot Gallery responded:

"Dear Ian, thank you for kind words, they are appreciated. I trust your bat will feel at home in his roosting tree along with his friends of other materials!"

You took on board which tools and methods you can apply to make the leaves and they looked so beautiful too, perfect texture and size. Hope you enjoy making more copper leaves at home and I can't wait to see how they turn out. xx"
