Monica D reviewed: Two person pen making experience. Make & take home the pens of your choice.

"My mum and I had a fantastic time on this course, and have come away with beautiful and unique pens that will always be so special to us. What we made totally exceeded our expectations as we are complete beginners, you really can make pens like in the photos above! Duncan is a kind and knowledgeable teacher who encourages creativity and clearly loves this craft. Would highly recommend. Enjoyed it so much that my mum is keen to book it again and bring my brother so he can experience it too. "

Duncs Wood Turning responded:

"It was a pleasure to meet and teach you both, you picked up the skills quickly and created two stunning and individual pens. I'm pleased that you enjoyed the day, many thanks. Duncs."

Charlie reviewed: Intermediate 1-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"I had been turning for around 8 months and all self taught. I realised I needed advice on tool presentation and technique. I also wanted advice on tool sharpening. Simon was excellent at giving me this advice and confidence. The day was first class. I felt very much at ease. Simon tailored the day to best suit me. We chatted a lot and the lunch was very nice. Lots of cups of tea. Thank you Simon and Louise. It is something that I will definitely consider doing again with Simon. I would absolutely recommend this course for any novice wood turner. "

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi Charlie, Thanks for the nice review; I enjoyed the day too :) I look forward to seeing you again soon - happy turning! — Simon"

"I had an amazing day at the stained glass workshop. Sarah was so lovely and extremely helpful throughout the day. She made everyone in the group feel welcome and was so encouraging during the whole process. We could use some example pieces as a guide, or could come up with our own designs. All resources were provided and the venue was in a great little area with amazing food options not even a minutes walk away which was great for lunch. I would highly recommend this workshop! "

Yvonne reviewed: Glass Fusing Fun Workshop

"We did a full day Glass Fusing experience with Penny at Through the Arch, and would recommend to anyone, it was amazing. My daughter booked it as my birthday & mother's day present, a lovely mum & daughter day of fun & creativity. Penny is an excellent tutor, explaining and guiding you through the techniques & skills, as well as safety in glass handling, needed to create your artworks. She is superb at giving you as much help as needed to make several gorgeous pieces of fused glass art, or stepping back and letting you crack on if you are happy with what you are doing. No question is too stupid either. The studio is well organised and equipped, and Penny provides a wonderfully relaxing, even 'cosy' environment in which you can relax and let your inner creative loose! I have some health/mobility issues but nothing was any trouble and I felt that as much help as needed would have been forthcoming had I needed it. Just a fantastic day suitable for almost anyone and the small class size means you can get a lot done and all the individual attention needed. As a day to share for couples, friends, siblings, parent/grown up child, etc, I cannot recommend this course highly enough. To echo a certain famous brand of footwear, "Just Do It!" Thank you Penny, for a fantastic day, we will be back to learn more! "

Through the Arch - Fused Glass responded:

"Thank you so much for the lovely review, Yvonne. It was a pleasure to host your creative day and you are so talented, demonstrated by your ideas and the finished products. I have your certificate awaiting you on collection of your glass. It would be a pleasure to welcome you again as you were so lovely to work with. Thank you Penny"

Bethany reviewed: Glass Fusing Fun Workshop

"For my Mother’s birthday she wanted to do some do a craft course of some kind. I spotted this one and thought it would be so much nicer than going to a larger college based class where it can be just the two of us. I was right! Penny was so lovely and welcoming and had all the tea and coffee on the ready. She explained the methods of creating beautiful art pieces clearly and with only two of us it was great undivided attention. Whatever imaginative design we could think of she had what we needed and helped us produce it the best way! Could not recommend taking this course highly enough! As stated on here, if you’d rather do the “full day” which I’d definitely recommend then it was really quick and easy to contact and ask for a full day and it gets added on here at the agreed day for you to book. "

Through the Arch - Fused Glass responded:

"Thank you Bethany for your thoughtful review. It was a pleasure hosting you and your mum as part of her birthday and mothers day gift and you made it a very enjoyable day for me too. You are both very artistic and really challenged yourselves with your creations. Well done! I have your certificates ready for you on collection of your glass. Thank you again Penny"
