Sarah Hobley Sculpture reviewed: Portrait sculpture in clay

"Having taken a course with Luke five years ago and working as a sculptor, I am still using his techniques and reverting to his problem solving tips - it's simple when an expert who knows how shares it! Luke later mentored me through a complex commissioned portrait, I achieved it and feel I could again. He's a very experienced, straightforward and patient tutor."

Luke Shepherd responded:

"Hi Sarah So pleased to hear your sculpture commission worked out well and that it's given you confidence and tools to tackle another. All very best Luke"

Diana reviewed: Mosaic workshop at Jackie Nash Art

"It was my first mosaic workshop and Jackie made me feel very welcome in her well stocked and laid out workshop. I was with three other people and we all had a good rapport. Jackie explained clearly how the making of a mosaic was to be done and was helpful and inspirational throughout. The atmosphere was great and were very well looked after, Jackie had even baked a cake. There were plenty of examples for inspiration but we were free to do any kind of design we liked. We had time to finish our mosaic and I left mine with Jackie to be grouted and to be picked up at a later date. I had a great day learning how to make a mosaic. It was a splendid introduction to the craft of mosaic making and I would happily come again. "

Jackie Nash Art responded:

"Hi Diana I’m really glad you enjoyed your day, and the company and learnt how to mosaic. Also, thank you for your kind words, as I aim to both teach mosaic and ensure you have a lovely day, too. Your mosaic will look fantastic once grouted. I’ll message you as soon as it's ready. Best wishes Jackie "

Zoe reviewed: Blacksmithing experience day

"Thank you, we had a fantastic day! I can highly recommend this course for anyone who would like to try a day blacksmithing. My father and I enjoyed every minute. Arian is a wonderful and inspiring teacher. He carefully instructed us throughout our morning apprenticeship. Then once we got the hang of it, he supported us to produce a piece to our own design in the afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole day and were very pleased with the pieces we produced on the forge. Thank you so much Arian."

Arian's Forge responded:

"Thank you for your feedback Zoe, it was really good to meet you both and I’m glad you enjoyed the experience. Good luck with setting up your own forge! If you need any advice with that please just get in touch. All the best. Arian"

David reviewed: Mig Welding For Beginners Introductory Day Course.

"John is an excellent teacher, you can tell he has taught welding at the local tech and now teaches alongside his own metal work artistry. I was a complete beginner and he went through everything from welding masks to how the welding machines work. He went at my pace with a positive easy style which gave me confidence. Then we adapted the time to do stick welding on his and my old machine. So now I know it works and what to do with it. Thoroughly recommend."

Newport Wrought Ironwork responded:

"Hi David my name is Tony not John Lol 😂 . Thank you for the fantastic feedback I am very happy that you enjoyed the course and took away the confidence to keep practicing at your own workshop . If you need help or any advice in the future please feel free to contact me. Regards Tony. "

Charlotte Wellington reviewed: Mosaic workshop at Jackie Nash Art

"My friend and I attended Jackie’s mosaics workshop yesterday in Blackwell. Firstly, the set up is great. A bespoke studio with everything you could imagine required for mosaic work. Secondly, Jackie is a truly gifted teacher; knowledgeable, experienced, approachable with a great sense of humour! Thirdly we both completed a mosaic of which we will be very proud, with a lot of very helpful guidance from Jackie. Finally, she makes great cake!! All in all a really wonderful and memorable day, spent with other like-minded women. What is not to love??! Thank you so much Jackie. We will be back! "

Jackie Nash Art responded:

"Thank you, Charlotte, for your really lovely review. I’m happy you had a good day, and it was an absolute pleasure having you both here in the workshop. Best wishes Jackie "

Paul Richardson reviewed: Introduction to woodturning: one to one

"I hadn't even seen a lathe up close let alone use one before .. until yesterday! As Bill said.. he has only been wood turning for 35 years and still learning. Nevertheless, I could not have hoped or imagined a more enjoyable introduction into this world. The wood, the grain, the tools, the bevel... Oh! And the sharpener. Really lovely bloke and his shed is a a wood turning Disneyland. Thanks "

"A most enjoyable course brilliantly run. As someone who has done no glass or painting courses, Martin gave clear instructions, was very patient, explaining the processes and techniques several times. Martin offered great support throughout the day, in a well equipped workshop with everything to hand. Would highly recommend together with the cafe upstairs. Thank you."

Anne W. reviewed: Gelli Plate Printing Workshop by Clare Cosens

"Clare's Gelli Printing course was a gift from a friend and we both attended. What a fantastic gift! Even though I love art and craft I had never heard of Gelli printing before. It was all new and Clare was an amazing teacher, very patient and encouraging. She was also kind enough to allow me to return the next day to pick up a couple of prints that I'd inadvertently left behind. We're hoping to attend more of Clare's courses in future."

Clare Cosens Designs responded:

"I'm really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the workshop. Many thanks for your kind words and I look forward to seeing your again in the near future."
