Ayla terzi reviewed: Full day introduction to glass fusing course.

"An absolutely fantastic day! Amanda was knowlegeable, excited, friendly and hilarious! She welcomed us into her lovely studio and shared her expertise and enthusiasm! I attended the workshop with my mum who ( having no prior experience in the techniques used) is now looking into taking up the craft at home! In a group of three (all at different levels of confidence and experience) Amanda balanced her time and energy beautifully to ensure we all achieved our desired designs, leaving all of us feeling very proud of what we achieved! And to top all of the wonderful artistic endevours, she is a top notch chef! Serving the most wonderful hot lunch with dessert, and greeting us with tea and homebaked biscuits! What more could you want! A truly wonderful day and experience, leaving us not only with wonderful memories but beautiful souvenirs that we can boast we made ourselves!! If I could I woukd give 6 stars!!!"

Anne Mather reviewed: Bespoke candle making workshop - Edinburgh

"Had a Lovely Morning in Temple on the Candle making workshop. Kerry made me welcome from the start (emails) and gave a lovely warm welcome as I entered her home then a 'Grand' cup of tea. Kerry is very informative about candle making and even told us about her 'mishaps' in the beginning of her journey. I was able to mingle with others who were there and choose the scent I wanted for my own candle from her amazing collection of scents. After blending the scent and wax together and pouring this in to the tin we had a a slice of yummy cake and another cup of tea. I had a lovely morning and would highly recommend this course to anyone. I was even able to buy a starter kit (or two) and some fragrances to make some more candles. Kerry, Thank You and look forward to seeing you again for the next one!"

Tim Burden reviewed: Woodturning courses in Hampshire - Beginners and improvers wood turning courses - Turn British, all British lathes!!

"I did a small amount of wood turning about 10 years ago and recently decided to dig out the old lathe and have another go. This did not go too well and so I decided that I needed to get some help. I came across Andy’s Web site and read the reviews which were all excellent. My children gave me a day course as a Birthday gift. On the day of my course I arrived at Andy’s workshop and straight away was made to feel at home. I had brought my own gouges so Andy could check my sharpening technique. I soon realised that I had no sharpening technique ! Andy reshaped and sharpened my gouges and we made a start on a bowl. I found Andy very patient and he explained things clearly. When I got it wrong he just showed me again. I learnt a great amount during the day and went home with the confidence to practice what I had been shown. Now my gouges are sharp things are starting to go a bit better on my old lathe. I thoroughly recommend this course to anyone who is interested in learning wood turning. I don’t normally pay much attention to reviews but I totally agree with all the good comments made by previous students. I would definitely like to attend one of Andy’s other courses once I have had some more turning time. Roll on next birthday. Tim Burden"

Linda Jones reviewed: A Practical Dry Stone Walling Workshop Central London

"As the Mother of the 'hen' I was slightly daunted at the thought of dry stone walling at my advanced age but I shouldn't have worried! John's tuition and advice make the whole experience very rewarding, so much so that I think we might have a go in our Dorset garden after possibly another workshop. All this in great company in the shadow of the Shard, a fantastic location for a very special day which we will never forget. Thank you John for sharing your expertise."

John Jordan reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"Excellent course from a very knowlegeable and patient tutor. I felt that Mark had really personalised the course to match my needs exactly. He guided me through the basics building my confidence with each technique and provided the "common sense" advice you can only get from an expert in the field. I really appreciated Marks willingness to work a very long day to ensure I had completed my bowl and for the follow up support."

"I was part of a hen party workshop. I had expected to enjoy it but not as much as I did. John was a great teacher who put our very mixed group at ease with a laid back and witty style. It was a really enjoyable activity at the end of which we had 5 pretty good walls! The setting was lovely and we were really lucky with the weather. I would definitely recommend this workshop, thank you John!"

Marilyn Robertson reviewed: Upholstery classes at Sandra Fryer's Workshops

"The feeling of great satisfaction (and occasionally relief!) when you finish a project under Sandra's expert supervision, is truly worth the wait. She feels your pain when you tackle a new an challenging technique and shares your delight in your personal achievement. It is also interesting to see the projects of the others in the group taking shape. There is a lot to be learned by observing too. A great experience in a professional and very friendly environment."

"Great two day course, four of us went to Sebastian's weekend course in Saul near Frampton. I had never tried sculpture before but with tips from Sebastian soon got the hang of working with stone it's totally different working in 3D (I usually draw/paint). I am now hooked on stone sculpturing, I can really recommend doing a course just for the fun of it, it was not expensive, you get good tuition and we all enjoyed the weekend. Ian P"

Gail Ball reviewed: Glass fusing and slumping (warm glass) in the beautiful Kent Downs near Canterbury

"This was my Christmas present from my husband, done in September! a busy schedule plus an injured ankle prolonged the time before I could take advantage of a free day and go along! What a superb day! Matt is so clearly delighted to impart her skills, and her careful explanations and the way she answered all our questions, (there were two of us on the day's course,) proved her patience and knowledge. I am so glad that I did remember how to cut glass, and pleased that I was allowed to follow my own ideas, and not held back at all! M5y glass pieces arrived today, and I am thrilled with them! Thank you so much, Matt."

Cathy Reilly reviewed: Two day leather work course - bag making

"This was a great course and I would recommend it to anyone. In fact I am going back to do another course in the art of hand carving leather. Jason who runs the course is very knowledgeable within the field of leather and clearly loves his craft. I gained lots of new skills and found the whole experience very rewarding. The location in itself is lovely based in an old mill where the Leeds- Liverpool canal runs alongside in a rural area. The messenger bag I made has had so many compliments. I love it. Great value for money. Thank you Jason and Louise for a great experience."
