Sue Snell reviewed: Rag rug making day in the Cotswolds

"Lovely venue at Trumpet Corner and very friendly course run by Jenni. We were a small group and chatted away to new friends whilst learning all about progging and hooking. Lots of opportunities to ask questions as we tried out techniques using different fabrics. Came away with lots of ideas and more confidence to start a project. Jenni is a real expert and it was a privilege to learn from her experience."

Roslyn Whiting reviewed: Introduction to leatherwork with Armitage Leather

"I recently spent two days with Nigel in his workshop. I have been doing leatherwork for a few years but wanted to perfect my skills and learn new ones. Nigel very quickly worked out what stage I was at and ran the course at the perfect level. He was very willing to share his vast knowledge of leatherwork and suppliers. I was made to feel very relaxed and subsequently learned a great amount. He also included pattern and design process as part of the course. I found this helped me understanding the rules behind a good design. I now feel I will be able to make better quality leathergoods and designs. I look forward to having another course with Nigel sometime. I would highly recommend his courses."

Hannah Blackledge & Harley Down reviewed: One day silver jewellery designing and making workshop

"One Day Silver Jewellery Course with Bridget Bradshaw. I booked this course for my boyfriends Christmas present. I had concerns initially as my boyfriend is a Carpenter & builds custom Harley Davidson motorbikes. So I needed a jewellery course that would be rewarding for someone who had welding experience and was interested in heavy machinery & hardy chunky bikers jewellery. This was the most perfect day for both of us. I couldn't imagine a better experience or outcome. Bridget is so friendly, welcoming, hospitable & an excellent, patient teacher. We both got so much out of our day course as well as a custom designed piece of jewellery. My boyfriend was also able to alter jewellery of his own that needed refreshing. The workshop is fantastic with everything you could ever dream up to design! Bridget will try to make it possible or suggest similar to get a desired result. This is one of the best gifts I have ever brought anyone, you will get so much out of this experience. Bridget is wonderful & very talented. A huge Thank you to Bridget. HH X"

"Brilliant course. Jenny is a great teacher who was very helpful and patient with me - a complete novice! The course allows you to work at your own pace, while still being guided every step of the way. Being instructed how to correctly use basic tools such as saw, chisel, plane is fantastic and just what I needed to know. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be signing up to some more courses soon."

Will Boswell reviewed: Traditional Saddle Stitching with Armitage Leather

"I came over to the UK and arranged a one day training course with Nigel, mainly focused on saddle stitching but also other leatherwork techniques too. I learned most of my skills from Nigel via his youtube channel, but this training was fantastic and worth every penny. His knowledge is vastly superior and if you have the chance to learn from him you will not be disappointed. The day was well structured, and Nigel addressed all of the items I wanted to cover, and he look at my tools and improved them too. I felt like it moved my ability on to a much higher level and I was very happy with the outcome. I'm sure it won't be my last visit."

We really enjoyed our stay at Martins course, and we warmly recommend this course to anyone who likes working with his hands and is interested in crafts. Ed and Jolanda. Rotterdam, Holland."

Dave Buckwell reviewed: Woodturning courses in Hampshire - Beginners and improvers wood turning courses - Turn British, all British lathes!!

"I recently had a one-on-one day with Andy and, as a new-boy to wood turning, I was not disappointed. He patiently explained the craft, took me through the tools that are used and all aspects of the lathes and the other machinery that he has. He advised on the various woods used for turning, and how best to season the wood. He helped me turn a bowl during the day using a variety of tools. He also advised me on the best makes of lathes and other machinery that I should be considering for in due course, and offered to give me his opinion on any machine prior to me actually buying. I would highly recommend Andy for anybody wanting to find out about wood turning, or to improve their skills."

Beth Rudolf reviewed: Three day blacksmithing course

"The course was fantastic. Pete moved at our pace to ensure that we made the most of the day. Consequently we ended up making at least 3 items all of which had clearly been carefully selected to ensure that we could try out key blacksmithing skills. Despite it being our first time, under Pete's tutelage we were able to execute them so that we now have some beautiful and useful mementos of the day, plus learn how to fold, heat weld, cut and develop hammer skills. From 14 to 46 all three of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this to anyone interested in blacksmithing and learning form a true enthusiast. Oh and the lunch was delicious and tailored to accommodate my peculiar dietary requirements!"
