Phil Platt reviewed: Three day blacksmithing course

"With my rudimentary blacksmithing knowledge, the tool making course provided an exciting challenge in working with tool steel. The 3 days were organised well, starting with making the tools needed to produce the final tool, a hot sett. Pete demonstrated clearly the processes before we tried them for ourselves, during which he gave gentle guidance and help when necessary. The tools produced were, surprising, better than I hoped and will form the basis for long future use. The hospitality offered by Pete's wife Heather during tea breaks and lunch was fantastic with scrummy food. It was a pleasure to share experiences with the two other fellow course members and to benefit from Pete's long experience. I would recommend a 3 day course at Bluefoot Forge to anyone with any level of interest in Blacksmithing."

Lesley Stewart reviewed: Felt Pod Vessels

"Fabulous morning: challenging, stimulating, thought provoking! Superbly explained, excellent explanatory handout, loadsa lovely wools, wonderful made vessels as models, lovely garden setting (complete with hens!),plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. A lot packed into the session, though I know it's my own energy levels that let me down. For me, with some experience of felting, it was a great opportunity to have input from a truly professional and expert feltmaker artist. A privilege to share the time with Emma, and there were several aspects of the feltmaking process that I appreciated "re-learning". More please!"

"The day was really enjoyable. Nadine was encouraging and made the learning of the basics interesting and accessible. The setting was great, at Eccleshall Woods. Have been inspired to purchase my own pyrography pen, which is a good indication of how much I enjoyed the workshop! Many thanks to Nadine"

Sharron Duffin reviewed: One day bangle/ring workshop

"I had craft vouchers for Christmas and decided to do the bangle workshop. I didn't have anyone to go with so Jolene arranged for me to join up with another single and pair who were visiting. I had the best day, the other visitors were lovely and Jolene was amazing. She provided enough guidance for me to feel confident but allowed me to make my 3 bracelets on my own. I will definitely be doing other workshops. We had unlimited tea throughout the day and the best home made brownies!"

Barbara Saunderson reviewed: Needle Felting with FURZIE at The National Herb Centre, Banbury, Oxfordshire

"I had seen Michelle's felting at 'Art in the Park' in Leamington Spa last year and decided then that I would like to find out how to do it. I had done some wet felting before but wanted to learn more about needle felting. So when I discovered that she was holding a course at Warmington, which is not too far away from me, I took the opportunity to enrol, along with two of my friends. Michelle was an excellent teacher and explained everything well, helping us when we needed it and letting us try things for ourselves as well. All the materials that we needed were supplied and we all produced something that we were really pleased with. The venue was good, we had a very nice lunch and also tea and coffee. It was friendly and relaxed. We had a really good day and I thought it was very good value. I would certainly recommend it and will probably go on another of Michelle's course in future."

Karen Bunce reviewed: Two day leather bag making course

"This was a fab course and I have come away with a unique and very personal hand stitched leather bag. Sarah Williams made sure that everyone was supported to make an individual bag in style, leather and colour of own choosing. Great value for money and I will certainly be using the stitching techniques on other projects. Sarah was generous with her expertise, time and materials and lunch was lovely too! We worked hard, and some of the stitching was tough but with Sarah's help we all came away with bags that will be much loved and used... and envied!"
