Amber Eddy reviewed: Clay sculpture, painting : Art Spells Magic Kids Classes

"I've been coming to art spells magic ever since I was 7 when i was in year 2. Since I started the class my art skills in proved rapidly due to Lucky's amazing teaching and tips. The class has an extremely relaxing yet has an enthusiastic vibe, the age of pupils varies yet Lucky finds her way around each student to help them in whatever they need. The class has a simple and effective way of teaching, each year group has flexible projects to complete each term. However, now I'm in older years the class is more based on improve specific skills and course work being completed. Lucky really has helped me in art showing me unique skills and ways to increase my knowledge in art. The class is flawless, the people, the vibe, the projects are all perfect creating an amazing place to learn and progress in art and design. Lucky is the nicest person I've every met she's so caring and an spectacular artist, i couldn't think of anyone better to teach me art. She's extremely easy to talk to so you have no need to worry about asking her for help with your art work. I've been going for 7 years now and still cant find one thing i would change with lucky and art spells magic."

Richard HUBBARD reviewed: A Practical Introduction to Woodland Restoration and Management

"Excellent day spent with a guy who is obviously an expert in his field (or should that be wood!??) Phil is passionate about what he does and this came across in spades in his approach. Re-enforced the very small knowledge I had already but taught me a great deal more! Will definitely be seeking Phil's advice in the future!"

Greenwood Music CIC responded:

"Hi Richard Thanks for the kind words, let me know if you want to set anything else up thanks Phil"

Vicky reviewed: Machine made lined curtains

"I recently attended the curtain making course, then the cushion making course the week after. I found Janet to be very welcoming and she made sure I understood each step. One on one tuition was intense but also a lot of fun. I felt able to ask her if I didn’t understand something and she made sure I was comfortable with each and every step. The course also came with easy to follow written instructions and included lots of help and advice with setting up my own business. I’m looking forward to the next course, making roman blinds. I would highly recommend Janet to anyone looking to learn a new skill."

Polly Turner reviewed: Copper Christmas decoration making, half-day course

"I didn't really know what to expect when I went on the course, as the last time I'd done any metalwork at all was when I was about 14 and still at school! But Charlotte explained everything simply and clearly, and had lots of patience with my slow and tentative start and soon had me cutting, sanding, drilling and polishing. The resulting ornaments are now hanging on my tree and I'm proud to be able to say 'I made those!' I would recommend the course to anyone - Charlotte is a great teacher and also a friendly and chatty person who put even a complete beginner at ease."

Laura reviewed: Blacksmithing courses

"Had an absolutely fantastic day under Lucille's excellent tutelage. She strikes a perfect balance of teaching by showing and helping without the sense of constantly being watched. She is very open to whatever you might turn up wanting to create and helps you either finalise your plan to ensure it's feasible to make on the day, or in my case if you haven't really got an idea she helps you come up with a really good one. My husband and I both love what she helped us create and had a fantastic day learning blacksmith techniques and then creating our own items."

Joan Carter reviewed: PickOne weekend weaving course

"James' weekend weaving course was wonderful! He helped us all to feel comfortable and able. He was perfectly prepared, and we had all the help and attention we wanted. The atmosphere was relaxed and busy; just perfect! It was lovely to be immersed in colour and texture, learning something new, and then to have a quality garment out of it too seemed a great bonus! Thank you, James."

Richard Bunce reviewed: A fabulous introduction to fused glass - one day course

"A really good day. Very satisfying to start from nowhere, and learn enough to make three pieces ready to go in the kiln. A week later, I've collected the finished work and it's very pleasing to see that they have turned out as well as Siobhan said they would! Highly recommended. And the lunch is good too."

Lauren reviewed: Woodturning courses in Hampshire - Beginners and improvers wood turning courses - Turn British, all British lathes!!

"This was bought as a last minute activity day by my boyfriend. We had a great time with Andy teaching us how to turn a bowl, would definitely recommend it to anyone who is even remotely interested in this craft and don't worry you don't need any wood turning or similar skills. Thankfully Andy will come and rescue you if you start shaving off large parts of your bowl and it starts to resemble more of a plate!"

I would definitely recommend this course."

Gerry Lemon reviewed: Intermediate woodworking course

"I have completed Ciaran's Beginners and Intermediate Courses, the former over 10 weeks and the latter over 2 weekends. I enjoyed both and would highly recommend them. I had no previous experience of woodworking but this was not a barrier as Ciaran has infinite patience and is a very able and experienced teacher. The facilities provided in his converted workshop are excellent and all the tools required are of the highest quality and maintained in excellent condition. The faciility in Alvanley is easily accessible from the M56 motorway. I certainly will take advantage of any further courses."

Edna reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"I have been coming to Lucy for nearly a year now and my pendant is evolving into a stunning piece. I originally wanted a lesson in enamelling. However with Lucy's skill and a lot of my imagination being stretched with some test enamelling on the way, my pendant has gone into a completely new direction. I have never felt so proud or believed that I was capable of making something so technically and aesthetically good. All thanks to Lucy. I have the utmost respect for her expertise and patience in guiding me through the process of jewellery making. It is more than art and craft you gain from Lucy"

Louise Jones reviewed: Beginners Candlemaking for Two - Anglesey, Wales

"I treated my friend to the Christmas candle workshop a few weeks ago and we had a delightful session at the Candle Alchemist. The friendly nature of Anita and her knowledge and top tips and encouragement throughout our session made for a thoroughly enjoyable morning. She structured the course really well to allow us to be creative and achieve a practical and nice candle by the end of the session. My candles are pride of place with my Christmas ornaments. I would wholeheartedly recommend anyone to attend her workshops either in a small group or a larger party. All in all we left feeling like we'd had a good creative session and a catch up and learnt a new skill along the way. Thanks Anita :-)"

"This November day was a birthday treat, rounding off the year with a new challenge - the technique of enamelling. Many thanks to Lucy for her truly exceptional support and inspiration over several other truly wonderful days, this year."

Chad Frary reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"I attended a 2 day workshop with Nigel in December. Initial comms were good, and Nigel adjusted his calendar to accommodate me on the Friday. The course was excellent, with Nigel offering the tuition as required, then trust you to "have a go" yourself, offering guidance on how to improve your skills. Nigel guided me on making some traditional pokers (not your boring type, really fancy), drifts, devils horns, tongs, etc. Everything I needed to get myself started at home! Safety is paramount in his workshop, especially as you have access to hot forges, metal, powerhammers, etc. Nigel ensures the environment is a safe place to learn the amazing art of blacksmithing. Don't hesitate, book now to learn from the master blacksmith! Thanks Nigel and Maxine...."
