These one day throwing workshops take place at an Art Centre in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
The pottery workshop can accommodate 5 students at a time. Clay and tools are provided and the fee includes the firing of one finished thrown pot. If you want to fire more pots then this can be arranged at a small cost.
Aprons are available, but it is recommended that you bring your own apron or clothes that you don't mind getting clay on. It comes off very easily.
This course is designed for beginners wishing to learn the basics of throwing a cylinder - the basis of most thrown pots. More experienced throwers can be shown more advanced techniques.
The workshop will run subject to two people being booked for each day. If you would like to book a place on one of the above dates or if you have any questions regarding the workshops you can contact me through the contact form above.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
If you find that you need to rearrange the course for a later date I will need at least two weeks notice.

This is a fantastic course and a wonderful day learning how to throws pots on the wheel. Charlie is an excellent tutor, really clear instruction, and a friendly and encouraging approach. He really made the day a pleasure, and made time to help each of us individually through the day. I would wholeheartedly recommend the course and will be looking for follow up workshops so we can carry on learning. Thanks! Pascale and David

An excellent course, perfect for a novice. Charlie was an excellent teacher and once he had demonstrated we had loads of hands on time with great supervision. If I didn’t live so far away I’d go back and do more.

Attended this course as a couple recently and really enjoyed the whole experience. Charlie was very friendly and an excellent teacher, very knowledgeable and communicated everything well. There was even homemade cake. Looking forward to collecting our pieces and glazing them. I would whole heartedly recommend this course.

This one day course was just what I was looking for. Not quite a beginner but wanting to perfect and revisit each stage of the throwing process. Charlie’s knowledge and instruction as exceptional. I was impressed by his ability to tailor to all levels. I will be recommending this course to others and look forward to other day courses offered by Charlie.
