Karen Sutton reviewed: Learn upholstery and have fun at Ball Hill farm upholstery

"I can highly recommend this course. Nicky has excellent knowledge and skills which she imparts in a friendly and welcoming workshop. She can provide all tools and materials required other than your chosen fabric for your project. The day runs smoothly with coffee and tea and a wonderful light lunch taken with other participants, many of whom are on-going students who are “old hands”. On the days I attended, there was another expert on hand for advice and guidance, although Nicky was always there to make sure we all kept working to a very high standard."

Simon Joy reviewed: Screen printing on glass

"This is a fantastic course for anybody interested in this medium, I decided to sign up for it after having attended Jim`s Monday night course. Jim is a great teacher and takes you through the whole process over the weekend. It's fantastic to see your ideas come to life and finally appear on the glass. The course was great fun and it was a pleasure meeting the others on the course and I would highly recommend this, you won't regret it."

Elaine Keeler reviewed: Festive card making/Papercraft

"I have been attending Karen's classes for a couple of years now. Karen is a very good and patient teacher, she always has lots of samples to show us how our finished items should look, and she does lots of preparation beforehand, so everything we need is to hand. I have learned lots of different card making techniques, and some mixed media too. The classes are a good place to learn and also a good way to make friends - we always enjoy ourselves and have a good laugh, my only complaint is that the time goes too quickly! But that's a good excuse to come back again! I can thoroughly recommend Karen to anyone, don't be shy, come and learn and have fun too."

Minnie Muse responded:

"Hi Elaine, How time flies! Thanks so much for leaving this review. I am pleased you are continuing to add to your crafting skills, you have many great craft skills which I admire. I really enjoy your company at the classes and friendship."

Kate jenkins reviewed: Spinner rings and bangles workshop

"I cannot recommend Jo's courses highly enough! I have done a few of Jo's jewellery workshops with my mum and sister and we are always talking about which one we are going to do next. Jo is a brilliant teacher and the groups are small enough that you can go at your own pace. She is calm and precise, explains everything clearly and makes even the hardest processes seem easy. Definitely a must if you want to learn a new skill in a relaxed and fun atmosphere."

Joanne Tinley Jewellery responded:

"Thank you for your kind words Kate! I always enjoy having the three of you in the workshops, and challenging you to expand your jewellery making skills!"

"We spent a fabulous day yesterday at Jolene's workshop. Neither myself, my daughter or my mother had any experience of jewellery making and each came home with a beautiful piece of jewellery to wear. Jolene is a patient and enthusiastic tutor. Her workshop is cosy and welcoming and full of interesting pieces to give you inspiration to be creative. I would thoroughly recommend it. I'm ready to book in for my next workshop......earrings next time, I think."

Fiona Cox. reviewed: Introduction to yarn dyeing at Peak District Yarns

"A really enjoyable day. Carrie was a warm and kind person, who has created a beautiful space in which to pass on her knowledge. Although I went on my own, the other participants were all friendly. We learnt lots and had fun, ending up with some beautiful skeins which we had made all by ourselves. There was also the opportunity to look around Carrie's shop, and buy some of her lovely yarn."

Kate jenkins reviewed: Silver earrings workshop

"I can't remember if we have done two or 3 of these earring workshops with Jo but what I can tell you is we can't wait to do another! I bought the first earring course as a birthday present for my sister a few years ago. Instead of just buying jewellery I thought it would be special to actually make the jewellery and spend the day together learning something new. It was the best idea because we had such a brilliant memorable day filled with laughter and fun and came home with a handful of beautiful earrings that looked super professional. We did the earring workshop just before Christmas and gave some of our makes as presents that year- we both got, and continue to get, lovely comments about our earrings and people are always amazed when we say 'I made them'. We enjoyed the workshop so much we booked to do the spinner bracelet one with our mum soon after and the three of us have come back to do this earring one again. It has become one of our pre-Christmas traditions to spend the day making jewellery with Jo together. Jo is a brilliant teacher, calm, precise and makes learning a joy. She gently guides you through processes at your own pace, helps when you are struggling or pushes you to do something more complex when you need pushing out of your comfort zone. All in all I couldn't recommend Jo and her jewellery courses highly enough! If you are looking to start from scratch or expand your skills Jo's your gal!"

Joanne Tinley Jewellery responded:

"It is always so lovely to have you, Hannah and your mum along on the workshops! You and Hannah currently hold the record of 14 pairs of earrings each made on the Silver Earrings Workshop! Thank you for your lovely review. I look forward to welcoming you to the studio again!"

Kathryn Sear reviewed: An introduction to brush lettering

"I have wanted to do a lettering course for a couple of years now and I'm so glad that I went on this one with Suzie! She was so helpful and down to earth and I loved every second of it. The workshop went really quickly and didn't want it to end. I would love to do another workshop with Suzie if any other courses arose (such as Christmas themed or another themed event)."

Sandra reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"I really enjoyed my day with Lucy, I was both excited and apprehensive when I arrived but soon felt at ease. Having one to one tuition really gives you a feel for what you can do, it’s very much a day of watch a little then try it for yourself. I felt more confident as the day went on. I came away with what I feel is a lovely piece of jewellery and an urge to continue to do more. Thank you Lucy, I had a really enjoyable day."
