Shaun reviewed: Make your very own crossbody/messenger bag

"Richard was a fantastic teacher and explained all the basics of leather crafting with ease. I felt very comfortable asking questions, and the small class size meant we got plenty of attention throughout the day. I was able to make something genuinely amazing on my first try because of how well I was guided through the process, and really feel I have learnt the skills rather than just going through them without a full understanding. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to learn to construct with leather!"

Liz Morris reviewed: Introduction to glass fusing at the Cheshire School of Glass

"This course is brilliant. I had the most incredible day. I thought we were going to make pretty coasters and little wall hangings! How wrong could I be! Jenny is an excellent teacher. She taught all of us so much in one day and we made big works of art! Three in total. When we finished , myself and the other delegates were a bit dazed and amazed at what we had achieved and learnt in one day. We all loved every minute. I would recommend this course to everyone who likes to immerse themselves in creativity and absorb all the exciting things Jenny has to offer in her beautiful studio."

Selina reviewed: Wreath Making with Amanda Thirlby

"I had the pleasure of attending the wreath making workshop run by Amanda. She was generous with her time, knowledge and materials. I was so happy with my wreath and tied display. The workshop was held at Cate Wetheralls Pure Artwork studio - a wonderful space to be creative and really enjoy yourself. I can't recommend highly enough, I am already booked on another workshop. Thanks again!"

ROGER reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"A huge 'Thank You' to Mark! I have not turned anything since at school over 50 years ago and felt it time to enjoy my retirement. Having bought a lathe and some tools, I needed someone to put me on the right road to safely use these and produce some 'pieces'. I now feel confident to move on. I will then have another course with Mark in 3 or 4 months time to further quality of my skills. Mark is knowledgeable, patient and has the ability to explain things well. Keep up the good work Mark. Roger."

Alice Baker reviewed: Handmade cards in Hampshire

"As total novices, we were amazed at what we managed to produce. As a group of 4, we always had tasks to be getting on with while June managed her time with the others. She has an Aladdin's cave of supplies and materials. We did both baubles and cards and were very impressed with how they turned out. June is a patient teacher and we would highly recommend her friendly classes"

Cardinal Cards responded:

"Thank you for your lovely review. I enjoy showing what can be achieved with a few instructions and techniques and you all made beautiful baubles and cards. Hope to see you again soon x"

Janice and Mel reviewed: Plaster mould making for slip cast ceramics with Ed Bentley

"Mel and I had an excellent day learning to make a four part mould in Ed’s studio. Ed coped admirably with our many demanding questions - as we have been making very unpretty moulds and book-learning as we go. He was enthusiastic and fun and ignored my bag full of shapes to settle on the most challenging one. So we learnt all the hard stuff, lots of professional tips, took many photographs and made notes and laughed a lot. Now we must quickly make another complex piece to ensure we remember as much as possible. We certainly recommend Ed for an enjoyable time learning a new skill, from someone who knows everything there is to know about casting difficult shapes."

David fairclough reviewed: Hand forged rustic knife course

"My wife got me this course as a birthday present. What a treat, Andy and Dave made the day. You are taken through the full forging process with excellent guidance all the way. Great technical knowledge and they are both easy going. You are able to adapt your design and come away with a great piece of hand forged steel. I can't speak highly enough of the staff or the experience. Already planning our next trip to the forge."

"I spent a full day doing the course with Panna taking the course and Lynn providing tasty treats. The course went through the basics and we produced 2 pieces to take home along with lots of inspiration to carry on at home. Beautiful space to get creative and meet other like-minded people. I can't recommend enough!"

Karen Forde reviewed: Mosaic one day workshop for adults with Caroline Jariwala, Birmingham

"If you love mosaics, then you must do yourself a favour and book with Caroline Jariwala. I did her 1 day workshop in Adelaide, South Australia and it was brilliant. She is a wonderful, funny story-teller and skilled teacher able to cater for all skill levels. I learnt new techniques which has improved my art practice. Don't miss out on a chance to work with Caroline !"

John Rogers reviewed: Greenwood carving at Sallerton Wood

"I have only done one review of a course run by Andy Morton, a Chair making course, I have actually done five courses. 1st stool making, 2nd Chair making, 3rd Shaving horse making, 4th another Chair making and most recently a Kuksa making course. The course its self was run over two days which turned out to be just the right amount of time to complete it. This is a bit different than the normal chair and stool making courses, there is allot of hand carving which I had never done and I wasn't sure I would be up to the task. I needn't have worried as Andy in his usual calm and easy way of explaining how to get from log to Kuksa made it a really enjoyable two days. The only thing I would advise is you take a good pair of gloves as most of the carving is done by hand with allot of pressure on the palm of you hand. A really great two days in fantastic surroundings in the heart of the Devon countryside and I now have my very own hand made Kuksa made by me. I'm sorry Andy I haven't reviewed all the courses I've done but they are all absolutely brilliant and I shall be back later next year for another chair making course, I'm hoping to get a dining set!"

Tegan reviewed: One day silver jewellery designing and making workshop

"What an incredible day! I started a complete beginner and have learnt so much about silver working with Bridget as an amazing teacher. She's patient and gives clear directions when needed and friendly chat otherwise. I'm really happy with what I made (which was much more than I thought was possible in the time!) and her experience and own work (which is beautiful) is inspiring. Looking forward to learning more! Thank you for a wonderful time - I'd recommend this to anyone!"

Joanna Ling reviewed: Pottery throwing course in the South Downs National Park (one day - one-to-one)

"I did a two day one to one throwing course with Rowena. It was fantastic. I learnt a huge amount and because I had two days with her we not only covered making various shapes but had time to turn some bowls and make some handles. Highly recommend it for beginners or those wanting to become more proficient."

Fi James reviewed: Table Loom Weaving Workshop - Dobby & Rose

"What a wonderful morning! Rebecca was knowledgeable, patient and friendly. The looms were set up to go so we had plenty of time to try different weave patterns and colours, but Rebecca also took us through the process of setting up a loom in detail, giving my fellow trainee and me enough confidence to have a go ourselves. I am not naturally very creative but found it easy to create a piece of fabric which wowed my friends and family! I am now looking to buy my own loom as I enjoyed it so much. If you are wondering whether to give this course a go or not, then dither no more, do it! Thanks Rebecca, it was fabulous xx"

Kelly Smith reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"I am a pyrography artist & have been wanting to learn & include woodturning in my pieces, but always too scared to teach myself! So I attended this course, crammed in to 4 sessions,(my choice) as a total “newbie”, with no experience what so ever, I hadn’t even held a woodturning tool! By the end of the 4 sessions, & feeling very proud of myself & just how quickly I picked it up, I feel confident enough to do this & I am so excited to start my new venture! Mark has been fantastic, extremely patient & a really nice man! An excellent tutor, always encouraging you with every step, answers and helps/advises with any questions you have, along with the offer to keep in contact after the course, as and when I need his help and advice. I would HIGHLY recommend Mark Hancock for his tutoring and woodturning skills! I hope to book some more sessions in just to boost my confidence even more. Thank you very much, Mark."

"We had a great day with Cheryl, who had the patience of a saint with those of us who are sewing novices! Calm and peaceful, the Pure Artwork studio is a wonderful setting to learn a new skill. Lunch was included and very yummy it was too! I can’t wait to visit again for another workshop."

Katy Greene reviewed: Learn to carve wooden spoons, beginners and improvers

"I learned so much at the one day Learn to Carve Spoons course with Dave. I had carved about half a dozen spoons before the course, but really needed some proper instruction. Dave quickly got us all using an axe to shape out a butter spreader, which we then finished off using several knife techniques that he showed us. We then used the skills we had learned to make a spoon. At all times Dave kept us working safely, but we were able to work on our spreader or spoon at our own pace. Lots of lovely tea breaks kept us refreshed! I learned so much during the day in the yurt, and Dave's info-packed follow up email was much appreciated too. Thank you Dave, I hope to carry on improving and maybe see you at an improvers class one day!"
