James Ormesher reviewed: Two person 'Have a Bash' at Blacksmithing course in Shropshire

"I had an absolutely great time. Good old hard yakka. Fantastic teacher, helpful and understanding offering guidance but allowing me independence to work the metal myself and create the designs I had in mind. Jack made me feel confident and capable and I was thrilled with what skills I was able to develop in such a short time. Thanks Jake......'bonza mate'!"

Hedge Ironworks responded:

Joe Z reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"It was a cold morning when I turned up at Mark's workshop, and was greeted by a warm stove, cup of coffee and a really relaxed environment to learn in. From start to finish, Mark's enthusiasm and passion for the craft shone through. He was very patient and great at adapting the day to a varied skill set, speeding up and slowing down his teaching style for the areas that you may or may not know and focusing in on the areas which need more attention. I would highly recommend Mark to anybody who wants to take the time to learn, improve or otherwise just have a go at turning."

Dennis Kenny reviewed: Blacksmith experience day in Tilford, Surrey

"An excellent day as a "Blacksmith", which had always been an ambition of mine to try, but I never had the courage until my wife gave me a birthday present of this days experience. Neil is a great teacher with an ability to get the most out of people. He is patient, encouraging, skillful and very supportive. Cannot recommend the day highly enough."

Jeremy Wyman reviewed: Bring Your Own Upholstery Project - 1 day workshop - Week Days

"This was our twelfth course through Craft Courses.com and we were not disappointed. A very good day, and from our experience a top tier course. The tuition is excellent and the safety briefing at the start was probably the best we have experienced (we like to come back from our courses with all body parts intact, as we are often using tools we haven't used before). We were able to finish our chair / stool in the day, and that is a sign of a good tutor who takes you through steps in a smoothly. You are definitely doing the tasks yourself, so its all your own work but help is at hand when you get stuck or doing the more twiddly bits. We often find that each craft has its own language and tools that were carefully explained. This time the magnetic tack hammer was our favourite. Catering and lunch in particular was excellent."

Nicky reviewed: Beaded Snowflakes

"This was the first course we had been too and we will definitely be back. The class was well run and although we all had different levels of experience, everyone was allowed to at there own pace and help was always available when needed. We all came a way with a beautiful snowflake and kits to make more."

Edna reviewed: Make a silver ring or bangle

"I'm reflecting on the tortoise and the hare. I have had two sessions recently where we have mulled over the design details of my work with some practice put in for good measure. Whilst the number of completed items may be small the devil has certainly been in the detail. If I had run ahead to complete pieces they would certainly not have turned out to be so magnificent as they have with Lucy's steady and collaborative approach with gentle questioning of my reasoning has made the difference between an average and a master class. With Lucy you have a grand master. I have already booked my next class."

Tom Moriarty reviewed: All inclusive artisan baking weekend in Devon

"We had a fantastic weekend with Penny and Dragan - lots of fun, laughter, learning, great food and, of course, baking! I'm really excited to put what I've learnt into practice and for the first time feel really confident with sourdough and viennoiserie. For me being taught by actual people was so important - you just can't get the same feel for dough and breadmaking from books. I took the course while my wife stayed as a B&B guest - their cottage is very comfortable. We felt very much at home over the two days and really enjoyed Penny's wonderful cooking. Penny and Dragan are great teachers - they are knowledgeable, welcoming, patient and passionate, and I would highly recommend their courses to anyone who wants to take their baking to the next level."
