"What a fantastic experience, I couldn’t think of a better way to bond with my two boys! Playing with fire and making a knife (safely ?) Connor was a great, great teacher, a testament to his fantastic ability. What a fabulous memory day made with my children, and they now have something that they can show their children to say, “Look what I made with my Dad” Will definitely be returning when my youngest one is of the right age. 5 star ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Day"

maureen Woolley reviewed: 'In The Style Of...'Painting Workshops

"Robert encourages class members to try different mediums and techniques in their drawing and painting. Robert always gets around each individual member of the class at least twice in the session and is always available for individual advice if needed. When introducing a new topic he will bring examples of different artists work for discussion and will demonstrate techniques. Robert is positive towards student's work helping them improve and enjoy the class. The Kings Heath Park Tea Rooms is a pleasant venue to work in."

Sarah-Jane reviewed: One-to-One Jewellery making course including wire work (beginners)

"What a fantastic experience and great fun to share with my daughter. The quirky, homely and relaxing studio set the scene and Jolene was so knowledgeable and calm it made the whole experience quite therapeutic and very enjoyable for us both. Jolene inspires you with confidence from the start and at the end of the day we both had three lovely pieces to be proud of and take home and show to family and friends. It’s a wonderful gift to give someone of all ages and an ideal excuse for family and friends to get together and do something different. Without doubt we will be going back (we haven’t stopped talking about it since) And as a bonus Jolene makes lovely coffee the best banana bread ever tasted! Thank you so much for a wonderful and memorable day. See you again soon!"

John Wallis reviewed: Blacksmithing, bladesmithing and metal craft

"Go on,yes, you can do it! If your curiosity has got you as far as reading this review then you really should book the course. Your reason for hesitating so far could be anything but maybe you are thinking of the cost; it's definitely worth it, you will go back home having learnt something new, with items you've made, and I am sure, a satisfied glow. Maybe you are worried about being judged, Nigel guides you in safe easy steps and is there to help if you ask, but he doesn't judge your work. The only person that might do that is you. I did the 2 day course, the first day is the same for everybody but the second day is really up to you. Taking a thought in my head and managing to turn it into a 3D garden sculpture, was a very satisfying achievement. It's spurred me on to make other things in metal and I will certainly be booking another course with Nigel when I have another project in the future."

"What a fantastic day. Simply amazing fun, learnt loads and laughed a lot. Have already told loads of people to go on the course. It was so much fun that I would actually get a potters wheel at home if we had space!"

"Hi Mark, It was great to have you both on the course and the resulting forms that you both produced were fantastic. If you ever fancy developing your skills further in the future, it would be great to have you both back on the course. You need to get that wheel so you can get practicing. Best wishes Mathew"

"This was the second felting course I've taken with Judi as I was so impressed by the landscape course the first time. Her enthusiasm and inspiration are infectious and she is so knowledgeable and patient that it makes learning fun! I can genuinely say that I'm delighted with my scarf which I shall definitely wear out, rather than hide in the drawer. I'm looking out for my next project. I feel full of ideas and possibilities now. Very, very happy. Also, it was nice being with a friend as we made more progress. Plenty of teas, coffees and biscuits too!"

Judith reviewed: Weekly upholstery workshops with Cherry Dobson

"What a fantastic week I have just had on Cherry Dobson's upholstery course. Her knowledge and expertise is second to none and her ability to explain and show you how to deal with a seemingly impossible project is superb. It does not matter whether you are a complete novice or have been doing upholstery for years - there is always something to learn and the small classes means that Cherry always has time for you. The lunches and cakes that she provides are delicious and these together with the fun atmosphere make the whole week feel like a (productive) holiday. I cannot recommend Cherry's courses highly enough."

Nicola reviewed: Circular sock knitting machine 'Sock School'

"This course more than lived up to my expectations. Anne and her team are patient and excellent teachers who talk you through the art of producing a pair of fabulous socks step by step on vintage machines. Because the group is small there is never any danger of floundering without a guiding hand from Anne or one of her team. I dropped stitches and made other mistakes and learnt why these had happened as well as how to fix them. I ended the day with a fabulous pair of socks with ribbing, heels and toes and because the teaching is so good, can remember how I made them. A delicious homemade lunch is provided along with biscuits and cake, again homemade, served on gorgeous china crockery. Definitely a five star experience and one I’d heartily recommend."

Sacha reviewed: Spoon carving for beginners - morning

"Superb course - Stephen was an absolutely brilliant teacher, taking us through the basics but getting us started on the practical stuff quickly and mentoring us through it. The whole ambience and atmosphere of the HQ is wonderfully earthy and authentic, and the morning course was an absolute delight. A fantastic introduction to wood-carving."
